We're heading to WDW in October and I made all my ADRs forever ago. Of course now, I'm obsessing over them and trying to decide if I should make any changes. One thing I keep seeing is not so great reviews of Chef Mickey's. I have 2 boys (4 and 2) and we've never eaten here so I figure it is worth a shot for character interaction. However, I booked both a breakfast and a dinner at CM. Do you think I should cancel one? I'm now thinking we probably don't need to eat there twice. I'm considering cancelling the dinner one and hitting TRex instead. Thoughts?

you definitely DO NOT need to eat there twice! I went for breakfast and wasnt too thrilled about the food. Food wasnt that warm, didnt have a good selection etc. But between bf & dinner, i heard bf is better. So i would just stick with that and cancel the dinner ADR. Chef Mickeys is a must do at least once in your life. Your boys will LOVE IT! The characters are wonderful, they have a parade thingy and napkin waving. Its a hoot!

TRex is a great alternative! You know its not on the dining plan thou, right? Its a really fun restaurant. Food is pretty good. Have fun!

Thanks for the response! I did know that TRex isn't on the dining plan but I figure one meal OOP is ok. I think the boys will like TRex, so long as it doesn't totally freak out my 2YO!

I would cancel one of them and try to find a different meal. I've never been to TRex so have no clue on that, but I would recommend Garden Grill. The food is pretty good and the character interaction there is great. Or a meal at Crystal Palace would probably be great for those ages if you don't already have one. What other meals do you have planned?

Here are my ADRs. I welcome all feedback!! (not that theres prob too much I can do about it at this point!)

Sun - Dinner at CP
Monday - Breakfast at CM, Dinner at O'Hana
Tues - Dinner at Kona Cafe, then head to MNSSHP
Wed - Dinner at CM, possibly change to TRex (i was able to get a Res)
Thurs - Dinner at Teppan Edo
Fri - Breakfast at O'Hana, Dinner at Tony's Town Square

I'm eating most meals near our hotel (Poly) bc we'll definitely need afternoon rest time. We plan to do early days at AK and HS, but won't be having dinner in either park.

Great choices!!! I would change one thing thou....(besides wed CM to TRex)...i would change Tony's to ANYTHING ELSE! They have horrible horrible food. I cannot stress that enough. its gross. Just imagine eating something worse than chef boyardee. I would pick Whispering Canyon instead, or Liberty Tree! Great choices otherwise! You'll have a great time!!

I've had a bad feeling about TTS so I'm glad you said something! I wanted to eat in MK on the last night and figured Italian was good for the kids. But I'll def look into other options now and see what else I can get. Thanks!

I say keep both! We always do dinner and bfast at CM each trip!! DS and DD LOVE it there and would rather go there than most anywhere else!

Not sure if you have the free dining or not but just to let you know in case you do that T-Rex is not one of the restaurants accepted on the dining plan. Good luck with your choices.

Goofyintoronto could not be more right!!! Tony's is so yucky! All the rest look great! O'hana is one of my fave's for both breakfast and dinner! WCC, LTT, 1900 Park Fare or Cape May Cafe are all really good options. As far as CM goes, I am not a fan. It is fun, but the food is not great. If I had to choose I would go for breakfast. Your kids will enjoy it! Halloween is my favorite time at WDW...have fun!!

Yes do chef mickeys for breakfast and do t-rex for dinner that way you get the best of both!! And we liked Toney's when we ate there last year. Not so bad like alot of the reviews state. The only bad thing was the garlic bread that came with my meal was hard as a rock.

I have a 6 year old who would disown me if we didn't eat at CM's at least once, so I know the pull factor there.

If you have to have the character at both meals, may I suggest Cape May for breakfast and Chef Mickeys for Dinner?

We've done both and assuming it's a good time slot for Chef Mickey's - I'd keep breakfast and cancel dinner. Breakfast is your average WDW breakfast buffet as far as food goes, but dinner was the worst table service meal food wise I've ever had at WDW...and that's saying a lot considering I still feel sick to my stomach when I think about a dinner at Marrakesh (and we're adventerous non-picky eaters).

We ate there last year for both breakfast and dinner. I would keep the breakfast and cancel the dinner. I think the breakfast food is pretty standard...hard to mess up. Plus, by the time we ate dinner there, it was the last night of our trip and we had already seen all the characters multiple times so that wasn't a big draw. Plus, the food for dinner was disgusting

We did Chef Mickey's last year for breakfast with our DD 2 1/2 yo. She loved it! Food wasn't that great, but the character interaction was fun. You don't go for the food at Chef Mickey, just the fun atmosphere. I would cancel dinner reservations and keep breakfast. Even with average food, we booked it again for January with our now 3yr old DD just because she loved it so much!
