We did BF on our last trip and thought we would try dinner this time around. anyone have been there tell us what was for dinner and was it enjoyable?

Last November we went to Chef Mickey's for the first time. We had dinner our first night, and it was a blast. Loved the mashed potatoes! The kids loved seeing all the "biggies" right away. We're making it a tradition, and already have our first night ressies for January.

Go for it! That way you can go to the park earlier in the morning. :cheer2:

I have been the last 3 visits and we are making it our first stop this trip so that my great nephew can see the main characters on the first night. They have a variety of entrees (a pasta selection, carving station, chicken dish), veggies, salads, pizza on the kids bar, but the best part is the dessert bar and the soft serve ice cream. My BIL has heard us talk about this so much that he wants to go every night.

That's how we always spend our first evening! Nothing gets you pumped up for Disney like Chef Mickey's!

We did dinner here before too & it was OK but we are passing on it this time around. If you do go for dinner, try to be seated in the backroom as that appeared to be where everyone was having the fun last time. They do the character interactions & play games, twirl napkins, etc which is a lot of fun for the kids but they only did it in the back area & we were seated in the front & missed out on it.

We just returned and we did the b-fast the first morning we were there. Nice buffet and, as others have pointed out, you get to see the fab 5.

The only negative I see to the b-fast is that it does take over an hour to see all the characters (I think the UG points out there is a 56-1 customer to character ratio, double in comparison to the Liberty Tree or CRT) so if you want to get to a park for the rope drop, it is pretty difficult.

But if your goal is to get hugs/pictures/autographs with the fab 5 out of the way, then Chef Mickey's is lot of fun.

Thanks we would like to start our first evening by going to CM for dinner as we arrive at 3pm, but i heard the supper buffet is not that great? Just wondered if i should try and book another day and do Bf, but we are really not big breakfast eaters

We did dinner for my birthday last year and the food was terrible. We had 530ish reservations, seated right away. It was very loud but in a fun way and with the 2 nieces we did not think it was very bothersome. The girls wouldnt even eat the food, it was cold, hard and just plain terrible. The interaction with the characters was great.

I wanted to try it for breakfast next month but they are sold out

I don't know - I've eaten there twice for dinner (and I'm doing it again this year) and I thought the food was great. You can find menus for all restaurants at allearsnet.com

 now i think i am going to regret changing CM to dinner, What type of food do they serve at dinner

There was wilted salad, hard rolls, peel and eat shrimp, prime rib (good) mashed potatoes (good), Mickey raviolis that were mushy and had way too much sauce on them, kids mac and cheese that was gross, kids pizza that was dried out and cold, kids chicken fingers that were hard, soup that was way too salty to eat, some pasta dish in a cream sauce that made me sick as a dog. Nothing else stands out to me. We had early reservations so I dont think the food should have been that bad.

Later that night we had to grab a bite to eat in MK and on a MNSSHP night there was not much open and the lines were very long.

Maybe I just hit it on an off night??
