Since I am all about desserts, what does Chef Mickeys have to offer for desserts during the dinner buffet..On other web sites it states...SAVE ROOM FOR THE FABULOUS SUNDAE AND DESSERT BAR...is it really something I would not want to miss?????

No, I didn't find CM's desserts anything special. Two types of standard soft serve ice cream with dry toppings (kids will like them, but they aren't very "adult" -- jimmies, m&ms, gummy bears, spree). They had very nice *looking* petite fours, but they tasted so so (think grocery store fare). There were also some baked goods (red velvet cake, cheese cake, apple cobbler, etc.). Again, they were fine, but nothing that was in any way memorable. All in all I would say CM's dessert bar is average -- not disgusting, but certainly nothing that drew my attention.

Now for a buffet, I thought that 1900 Park Fare had wonderful desserts! The variety there wasn't as broad as Chef Mickey's, but everything was (real) bakery fresh. I'm not a chocolate person, so I don't recall the chocolate offering, but they had heavanly bread pudding, a nice key lime tart, really good apple cobbler, etc. Those desserts I wanted to go back and get seconds on!

We ate at Chef Mickeys last Wednesday and thought it was the worst character dinner we did (we also did LTT, CP and GG). The service was not that great and the food was just so-so. It literally took a good 20 minutes for our waiter to come by after having asked him for a refill of our DS8's milk. He had totally forgot and spent another 5 minutes getting it after being reminded. As the OP said, to my husband and I, the desserts were grocery store fare. The boys did enjoy making their sundae's.

No, it is certainly nothing special. The desserts look pretty, but taste so plain. Not much taste actually. Chef Mickey's is something we will not do again.

does anyone find this buffet to be messier than most...the pix of it alwasy seem slopped up which kind of grosses me out. so it cleanliness/ orerliness a problem or not?

We (my husband and I) think the desserts look alot better than they taste. However, CM is one of our children's favorite so we go every trip.

I wonder wht happened to CM'S? Seems like all our old favorites have went down hill!! Maybe because of the new dining plan food is cheaply prepared now? Just a thought! :confused3
