How is dinner at CM? We´ve done breakfast a few times before and always loved it and we´ll definately be doing breakfast again this time, I´m just wondering whether we should also try out dinner?

It was not for us. We had only done breakfast, but wanted to do DS's 2nd birthday dinner at Chef Mickey.

I LOVED the atmosphere for a birthday.

I did not love the food. Think Old Country Buffet, Golden Corral, etc for $29.99.

To me, that's a LOT of money to pay for entertainment. The same entertainment that I get at breakfast (with my Krispy Kreme donut fix)

We went once for my b-day (the nieces choice not mine ;) ) and although the character interaction was amazing the food was horrible, even the kids thought the pizza, chicken, ravioli's etc (kids table) tasted blech.

I would love to try breakfast but will not do dinner again

Thanks guys! Sounds like we should just stick to breakfast only.

I guess it is a matter of preference. We do Chef Mickey's every trip twice, once for breakfast (our last morning before we leave) and once for dinner, on Thanksgiving. We have been nothing but pleased for our Thanksgiving dinner. I don't know if it is better on the holidays maybe, as that is the only time we have done dinner. Just my opinion.

If you go, just remember you are there for the characters not the food!! The food is just okay- it fills you up and that's about it! We had the best time there though. The character interaction was the best of our trip. My kids also loved the Monorail ride into the resort. It is just a really fun experience for kids.

You are exactly right! In October 2007 I was on the DDP, and didn't care if I 'spent' more for the characters.

That trip is the reason that we decided that the DDP isn't for us. (nothing to do with Chef Mickey's)

Now that I am paying OOP, I'll go for breakfast to get the interaction for a lower price. :goodvibes

We do it every time we go!! I have yet to try breakfast and am not sure if I want to pass up dinner to do it! Food is pretty good to me, and of course you are going for the atmosphere!!

We are trying Chef Mickey's for the first time in February for dinner! I can't wait!

My family and I have had dinner there a few times. While the food was nothing like they serve at Boma which I think is better, the food at Chef Mickey's is not horrible.

We are going to do dinner at Chef Mickey's on our first night at WDW. I can't wait!! Well I haven't made the ADR YET but I will on the first day!

Just a friendly reminder. Chef Mickey's is one of three reservations that is still available at the 180 day window. I see that you're going in March 2009 - so your 180 days should be sometime this month. :goodvibes

Yup! I am setting my alarm clock for 6 am on 9/28!!!! :wizard: :wizard: DH is going to think I have literally lost my mind!! :lmao: :lmao:

We just ate dinner there last week and we thought the food was good. They had a decent variety.

CMs for dinner is a family tradition for us. I think the food is usually pretty good but in Jan. when we went we didn't think so. That didn't stop us from making reservations for Oct. & Dec., though. :)

But I should say we've never tried it for breakfast. We like to catch a quick bite and get to the parks early so we do our character meals for dinner.

We ate there for dinner this summer. I was so disappointed!!! The character interaction was great. We (party of 4 adults and 3 children) thought the food was horrible.:sad2: We are not picky eaters!!!! We paid out of pocket--I would maybe try breakfast if on DDP.

We always go there for dinner on our first night at Disney, it's a tradition, well this past trip, we went for breakfast 2 days after we got there, we definately like dinner better. It's the atmosphere and characters we love, the food is OK.
