Chef Mickeys Dinner Question

So I've been out of the loop a bit and in looking at the menu for Chef Mickeys dinner, some websites state that it is NOT a character meal. Now I know that the traditional character meals haven't returned yet, but I was under the assumption that they were making an appearance and that you could take some pics with characters in the background. Anyone have a recent experience with Chef Mickeys at dinner and can elaborate a bit.

We Were there last night. Mickey, mini, goofy, Pluto, and Donald were all there. We took lots of photos.

Characters are still there, they just visit your table from a distance. They did change the meal from buffet style to family style.

Echoing what the others have said - no longer buffet, instead it's family style. Same characters in their cute outfits visit but stay at a distance. The characters are still fun!
