I can't decide which meal we want to do at Chef Mickey's. I've never been there and it will be my birthday and a day of the halloween party so please tell me what you think would be my best choice, meal wise!

Since it's your birthday and MNSSHP, I would suggest Crystal Palace for a dinner. That way, you will already be in MK for the party. If you are set on Chef Mickey's, then I would try to get as early a seating as possible.

I got a 7:30AM for Chef Mickeys so we can be early to MK. I would say that if you are planning on an afternoon break, do breakfast. If you want to go all day, go a little later and do dinner.

I agree with the last poster, Crystal Palace (pooh & friends) would leave you in the park, and also has a nice dinner that is almost identical to what is served at Chef Mickey's.

If you were looking for a character meal with mickey & friends instead of pooh, than maybe you could also try Liberty Tree Tavern. That is located in liberty square at MK. THey are only open for lunch and dinner. Lunch has a sit down menu. Dinner is not a buffet but an all you can eat - family style dinner (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=87 ). SInce the park closes early for the party, they would let you in early with a reservation there. Or you could stay in there if you were going to be there already.

But, if you were really set on Chef Mickey's, the breakfast there really fills you up (or at any character meal). I usually am not hungry until dinner time after having a character breakfast. If you get a dinner reservation, try to get one as early as possible (like a late lunch, something like 4-ish or 5-ish).

just some suggestions...

Good luck!! :wizard:

I would also suggest doing the Crystal Palace for dinner. This way you are already in the park, plus the food there is excellent! :thumbsup2

If you definitely want to dine with Mickey, then I would do Breakfast rather than dinner there. Breakfast is good, but was quite disappointed with dinner.

ok thank you.. I really wanted to know which was the better meal as far as breakfast or lunch! Thank you very much for clearing that up for me!

My DH and I have ate at Chef Mickey's for breakfast and dinner and I really should have listened to the folks on the DIS and not even bothered for the dinner. I was SO disappointed with the options for dinner. Breakfast is there speciality by far!! Trust me! But in my case I wanted to experience it for myself but I sure will never go again!!! You won't be disappointed with breakfast!! :thumbsup2

don't mean to hijack the thread, but the breakfast/dinner question and chef mickeys was pretty much what I was going to come on and ask. my follow up was if we choose breakfast, what are the hours it is served? also, if we go to a very early breakfast (pre park opening), and we are staying at a resort in the epcot area, how do we get there?

We have done both and found breakfast to be much better! The dinner food was just blah, and the place was a mess. We always enjoy the breakfast and have an ADR again this year.

Both meals are good, but if I had to choose one only it would be breakfast.

I also agree that breakfast is the better choice. I believe that they serve until 11:20 or so.

The dinner food is fit for pig slop. It's that bad. Really.

Breakfast food is OK, certainly nothing special, but the place is VERY noisy and a bit too much pandemonium for me in the morning.

I'm going to be the "odd" one here & vote for dinner...we've eaten dinner at CM 4 times this year & each has been fantastic!! Great character interaction & the whole family has their favorites on the buffet!!

i like dinner at chek mickeys more than breakfast
but also agree that if you are doing mnsshp crystal palace might be better

We have been to Chef Mickey for both Breakfast and Dinner... and I remember having a better experience w/ Breakfast. Must add we were a much bigger group for dinner which may have added to the craziness.

When we go back to WDW, I'm also continplating this same question breakfast or dinner. I think we are leaning towards breakfast.

1.) Less expensive
2.) Less hectic
3.) Perdictable food

Dinner has more choices but not necesarily what I wanted.

I guess I would say BREAKFAST too.
