Chef MIckey's Breakfast - Do you think they will take us earlier?

Earliest I have breakfast ressie is 9:30 . . .but really 8:30-9 would be much more ideal. What's the chances I have of showing up a bit earlier and getting in?

It matters because I may have to cancel that ressie and go somewhere else.

I believe MK will be on EMH that morning. . . if that matters.

Can you go even earlier? Your best chance to get in early would be to be waiting when they open - and even then, there's no guarantee.

You can try at the time you mention, but you need to remember (a) this is peak breakfast time and (b) you weren't able to get a reservation for this time period - i.e. you may end up waiting until your original ADR time, if not longer.

They did for us a few years back. We just happened to arrive early. We thought we'd kill time in the gift shop around the corner from Chef Mickey's, and they told us they might not be able to get us in early, but a minute or two later they had us at a table.

It's best to get there a little early anyway, although I wouldn't expect to get seated early during free dining.

Last year on a Saturday we had an 11:20 reservation. It was check out day and we had to be at a wedding by 2. Well we still had to get changed and all. We knew we would be pushing it so we got there at 10:30 and they took us right away. Thank Goodness!!!!!!!!!! :wizard:

I would give it a try. One time we were early and they took us. Another time we were 30minutes late! and they still took us. They were pretty crowded both times but very nice (of course) and accomodating! Hope it works out for you!

There is no harm in trying. I would suggest that in the mean time you keep trying for an earlier ADR. People do cancel all the time and things become available.

You may want to research and see what your true options are right now and realize with each passing days those options may also disappear. Another thing to consider is most individuals under packages have to make full payment 45 days out. So you might want to press your inquiries a week before this in attempt to catch a possible cancellation at Chef Mickey's. I can say when we go to Chef Mickey's we go right when they open. By the time we are done we see lots of people waiting to get in, but you can alway attempt to get in early with the expectation you are not going to get in until 9:30am or later...that way your party doesn't get all stressed out over something that is outside your control.

I get the impression that the reservation times are very deliberate at Chef Mickey's - moreso than any other place I've dined at Disney. You could tell they emptied the dining room, then gradually re-seated it and then sent out the characters. I don't think they have the ability to be flexible for anyone arriving too early or too late. I think you would be better off getting a different ADR time - otherwise you might be very disappointed.

You might get in earlier, but be prepared to be told no at a busy place like chef mickeys. We had 11:20 adrs last year, and arrived at 10:45. They wouldn't even let us check in until 11:20, and then we had to wait another 30minutes. We wont be getting there as early this year.

1) You are going at very busy hour.
2) You can always try to get in early.
3) But, be prepared to wait until your ADR time.
4) And, maybe longer since that is crowd crunch time.

I'm not saying this is always the case, but we went in late January and had 8:50am reservations. We really overestimated the time it took to get over to CR (we tend to do that). We checked in at 8:15, had our photos taken, then we waited for about 10 minutes and our pager went off. We were expecting to wait until 8:50, so it was really nice.

So as long as you're willing to wait until your ADR time (or after if need-be), then I would say go ahead and try checking in early.
