is chef mickeys at dinner /supper a character meal
is the food good
what characters do you see
i was also considering 1900 park fare cinderella dinner
anything special i need to request for either
which should i pick
if you go to chef mickeys can you go out on the balcony to watch the fireworks and electrical water parade
thanks for all the help

I have done both. I thought that the food was better at 1900. The character interaction was great at both.

My kids liked the desert the best at Chef Mickey....as a matter of fact, I think that all they ate there. The food was just so-so for dinner.

Food is OK. It's a buffet and there are lots of selections. Dessert is part ice cream buffet if I remember correctly. Character interaction if great here. You should see (sometimes they change) Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and Donald Duck. They may be able to tell you when you make the reservation. There are small windows in the back, not sure if you can see the fireworks or water parade from them. Chef Mickeys has always been my daughters favorite character meal.

Out of all the restaurants we went to last trip, Chef Mickey's food was my least favorite. I didn't like it at all. Character interaction was great though. My kids loved it, and the food.

We only do breakfast buffets (unless it is Biergarten or Cape May Cafe for dinner) after two horrible experiences at Hollywood&Vine and only a so-so last visit to Chef Mickey's. If you want to see Mickey and the gang, I'd do breakfast. We've never done 1900 Park Fair but I've read breakfast is better there than dinner (the dinner food I've read is very salty).

Here's a good note for Chef Mickey's...we've had it for bf and dinner. My hubby loves the dinner there and requests it each time we go. Some good comfort food there like roast beef and potatoes. Also salmon for me and regular food for the kids. You'll see mickey, minnie, goofy, and pluto, sometimes donald too! We've never asked about watching from a balcony or anything like that. I know they do that upstairs there at the Calif. Grill. I've heard the food is better at the GF, but chef mickey's is a fun and a good meal. You'll enjoy whichever one you choose!!

My family and I have been to Chef Mickey's a few times for dinner and thought it was good. Also the characters you would see there is Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto.

Chef Mickeys is a must for us every year. Last year the characters were chasing each other all around the restaurant. The kids/adults got a good laugh. The food is good here.... I have had better food elsewhere, but the overall atomsphere is great!

We ate at Chef Mickey's for dinner and it was the worst meal of the week. The only meal where we left and were still hungry - yeah it was that bad. The meats were dried up leather, the sauces and soups were all congealed and some of the foods didn't look anything like what they were supposed to be. The character interaction was only so-so, possibly because my kids were older (the characters came by and except for goofy only stayed long enough for one photo each and then moved on to the toddlers at the surrounding tables where they stayed for quite a while). We definitely wouldn't go back.

I can't comment on 1900 as we didn't eat there.

We went a couple weeks ago, and we also thought it had the worst food out of all of our reservations. We did like the dessert pretty well though. ;)
Oh-and the character interactions were just ok for us as well. I'm not sure if we'd do this meal again, but I am glad we tried it!
