I was just wondering if anyone remembered the original Chef Mickey's at DTD? My "future husband" and I stumbled on it while walking around, and had one of the best meals we've ever had at WDW there. Don't get me wrong, we do like the CM's at CR, but it used to be very different. We had what I would consider a very romantic dinner late in the evening. The service was great, the food was delicious, and we had a wonderful view of the water.

Does anyone else have any memories of this CM?

i sure do! that was our first meal on our honeymoon in '92! we, too, stumbled into it and were glad we did... it was very enjoyable and i agree w/the romantic part (but then again, on a honeymoon mcd's can seem romantic ;) )

It was very nice. And while we were waiting for a table, we could browse in 24 Karats, the fine jewelry store which shared the building.

I can't believe I actually forgot about it being there. I just saw an old sign on ebay from Chef Mickey's, when it was at the Village. You can have a nice memory (and sign) for only $3495.00.

They had a great peach cobbler there. I think the recipe was in one of the first Disney cookbooks. I also did a lot of browsing (and buying) of gold Mickey jewelery while waiting to dine. It used to be the best place in DTD for making a bathroom stop too.

Anyone remember Minnie Mia's - cute little italian place? My sister and I had the best meal of our entire trip there - also back in '92!

I forgot about the drink cups. I still have those packed away. My husband came home and tried to recreate the Fantasia drink. He did a pretty good job.

All this reminiscing made me remember Donald's Dairy Dip at DTD also. We have drink cups from there also. I remember trying to tackle one of the Huey, Dewey, and Louie sundaes.

I've got to say, I kind of miss the way DTD used to be. Don't get me wrong, I do like it now, and I love World of Disney, but it used to have a very different feel to it.

I remember CM at DTD - loved it. Well I don't remember liking the food that well but I liked the atmosphere and Mickey walking around the restaurant. I was there w/my future husband as well - not sure if that was in 1995 or 1998. I also remember Donald's Dairy Dip that a PP mentioned. We were at disney in October while DTD was on my list to do we never made it. I really missed going as DH and I really liked DTD and PI when we were dating. Good times. Our 3 kids wanted to hang out by the pool but I bet they would like it too - next time. DTD that is not PI. :goodvibes
