These were the only ADRs we had while we were there (we were on the QSDP and we chose Chef Mickey's for the characters and Mama Melrose for the F! package).

Chef Mickey's (dinner):

I had read so many bad reviews especially about dinner, but it is what it is. Typical buffet food (or banquet/seminar food). I thought the food was fine for what it is. The servers were really nice. Yes, it was a little slow at times, but they were really trying -- and they were very friendly. Great character interaction. Would I do this again? Probably not -- but I'm not really into character meals, so I don't know if I'd do any character meals again. We were not disappointed, though, as we knew what to expect.

Mama Melrose:

I was plesantly surprised with this one. I didn't expect much, but I loved the decor/ambience. Our server was wonderful. I did feel a little rushed toward the beginning/middle of our meal (so much food that they had to get out, I guess), but the food was quite tasty. My dessert was delicious (amaretto cheesecake thing) and he brought dh and I some champagne to celebrate our 10 year anniversary (wasn't expecting that). Again, it comes back to expectations -- this isn't a 5 star restaurant, but it was a very tasty/enjoyable meal.

The wife and I went to Mama Melrose for out 5th anniversary (almost six years ago). We had a great waiter, and the food was the best.

A warning note: it is not a good restaurant for kids. Some parents have exceptional kids. Mine are exceptional except for their eating habits. This is not Ragu/Chef-boy-r-dee/Dominos:eek:

Thanks for your reviews. I have also been pleasantly surprised by Mama Melrose's both times I ate there.

Mama Melrose's is a must for me evertime I'm in DHS! I love the atmosphere and the menu..but I agree...not great for kids!

Just curious, why do y'all think it's not a good restaurant for kids? It's not upscale at all -- and family friendly, I thought. They hand out crayons w/ the kids' menu, lol. It's also pretty loud in there. Or do you just mean the food? Both of my kids are pretty picky and they ordered penne with butter and parmesan -- can't get more kid-friendly than that. :)

Thanks for your reviews. We're not big on buffets except breakfast at Crystal Palace and Cape May Cafe (the only dinners we'll do are Biergarten and Cape May Cafe), but we LOVE Mama Melrose. We've always had good food and great service. Like you said, it is not a 5 star restaurant, but it is pretty good food.

The food. Great for adults. Bland alternatives for fussy eaters.
