So I was thinking that Chef Mickey's would be a good choice for our next trip, as we never made it there on our last visit. I had always heard good things on the DIS regarding Chef Mickey's, but when I checked out the recent reviews on allears.net, I was surprised to see the terrible reviews for dinner lately. We were thinking we'd likely book for dinner, as our last vacation was "commando" and I don't want to have to set a morning alarm if I don't have to. :rolleyes1 Besides, my boys have already asked to return to O'hana's character breakfast this trip~a favorite for them! (because of Stitch likely):stitch: What would YOU do? My kids will be: DS11 and DS8 at the time of our trip, plus myself and DH. Have you been to Chef Mickey's? What do you recommend? :confused3

If I had to, I'd do breakfast. Done dinner many times (never my choice) and I didn't care for it any time I was there.

I always enjoyed breakfast at CM's (probably went 3x), but we did dinner this year and I really wasn't impressed. I enjoy breakfast better than dinner anyway, so maybe that had something to do with it, but I thought the dinner food was just so-so, nothing on the buffet that overly appealed to me.

Dang! Not what I wanted to hear. I just booked Chef Mickey for dinner on our arrival night. Thought we'd start the vacation with a bang.

Is Chef Mickey's ALL THAT then? Should I be using my table credit elsewhere? I always thought it was a "must do" at WDW. We'll be staying 11 nights at the Polynesian so I plan on:

-O'hana (both breakfast and dinner)
-LeCellier (dinner) *repeat for us
-50's Prime Time Cafe (lunch or dinner-not sure yet)
-Coral Reef (dinner)
-Spirit of Aloha!
-Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner) *again, repeat for us
(even without the characters!)
-Cinderella's Royal Table (dinner) *we had lunch previously. We love the atmosphere of being in "the castle"

My kids do NOT want to do Crystal Palace again (we did breakfast-they were so NOT impressed with Winnie-the-Pooh and friends) and we've done Si-Fi Dine In a couple of times.

I think Chef Mickey's is fine - the characters are great there. We haven't done LTT for quite a few years, can barely remember it, haven't done Ohana for a long time either (pre-Lilo and Stitch!) and of those 3, I enjoy it the most. But I just like breakfast better than dinner.

I think it would be a good choice for you from the Poly -- so convenient on the monorail - that's what we just did in January - Poly to Chef Mickey's for dinner.

And to the OP - I wouldn't count it out - wait until you get "more data" from your poll! Maybe I'm the only one who didn't like dinner! LOL!

We are frequent flyers at this breakfast and highly recommend it. The dinner however...not so good...think Old Country Buffet. We were really disappointed in the quality of the food given the price.

Chef Mickey's Breakfast is Awesome! I thought the food was good - that was April 2006. We will be arriving August 30 and booked the breakfast again. My boys are 6 & 8 and really enjoyed it!

Voted for Breakfast.... I just think that there are so many other locations that have great dinner!

I would go with CM for Breakfast. Our last trip we did both, and breakfast wins hands down. The food isn't so great for dinner. The breakfast food is very good. Both put on a great show and your kids will love it either way and probably not care about eating much. Good Luck & enjoy.

Haven't had dinner at CM's, but breakfast twice was great.

If you can do a late breakfast/brunch after 11 or so, there is no lunch there, so character interaction can increase as it empties out.

We leave in 9 hours for our third trip to WDW! Wish us luck.

We actually love both dinner and breakfast at CM. My son loves the kid friendly dinner items and we liked the parmesian mashed potatoes and roast beef. We also loved the breakfast. It was very yummy. And the interaction with characters are great. It always feels so up beat and gives the jump we need in the morning to get going in the parks and also the reboost of energy to help us to stay up for fireworks and EMH! We will be doing both breakfast and dinner again at CM. We also like to do breakfast and lunch at CP! My boys love character meals bc they are 2 and 4 and dont have much patience to wait in line for character signatures and photos so the meals are the best.

I haven't been during breakfast but I can tell you dinner at CM's was the worst meal of our trip. The food was greasy and bland. The character interaction was good though.

Well, I'm beginning to get the idea that those who HAVE done dinner were not all that impressed, and people who have done breakfast there, really enjoyed it! Maybe it is worth getting up for...I worry about a late breakfast though. I mean, the character interaction MAY be great, but really how is the food at the buffet that late of a sitting??? So, I've been to CP for breakfast (loved the food!), like I mentioned before, the kids don't want to repeat it simply because they feel they're way TOO old for W-the-P and friends. How does the breakfast at Chef Mickey's compare to the quality of food at Crystal Palace?
