Chef Mickey's 7 am ADR

I just got a reservation for Chef Mickey's at 7am in the end of Sept. We will be staying at the CSR. What time should I leave the resort, and when do the busses start running? Will I have to take a cab?

Buses do run for early character breakfasts. I believe they start at 6:30 a.m. but run less frequently than they do later in the day. So if you miss the 6:30, you may have to wait a while for the next one, which doesn't give you time to make it to your 7 a.m. rsv. My suggestion: get to the bus stop at 6:20 a.m. so you don't chance missing your one opportunity to get to breakfast.
By the way, Chef Mickey's is AWESOME!!! You'll have a blast!

We had a 7am adr at Chef Mickey's and took a cab. It cost me $20, but I think I was so tired, I tipped him like $8! Anyway, I am the type who would have gotten all hyper if the bus was late so it was worth the peace of mind and smooth quiet ride BTW, the coffee at Chef Mickey's was delicious and my kids had a blast Have fun!

We had a 7:10 am several years ago and took a bus directly from our hotel to the Contemporary. Call the front desk the night before and they'll tell you when the bus will arrive. Good advice from a PP- be outside 10 minutes early to ensure you don't miss it. It was the easiest time we've had getting to an ADR resort to resort since we didn't have to go to a park or DTD first.

good heavens, i didnt even know you can get a ressie that early in the morning! 7am? WOW!

I personally would take a cab. As the OP said, I would FLIP if i missed the bus and had to wait another 1/2 hour. Lol! As peace of mind that early in the morning a cab is the way to go.

There is no way I would book an ADR at that early time unless I was either staying at that resort, or at a nearby resort from which I could walk. So...with that in mind....get a cab. There is a very good chance you won't make it to the CR in time.
Yes, the buses start running at 6:30...that means you have to be out at the bus stop by 6:15...sometimes the buses run a bit early. If you miss that first bus, you aren't making it. And yes, sometimes the driver will drop you at the CR, either before or after the MK drop. But...it isn't a sure thing. I always ask the driver, when I board the bus, what the quickest way to the CR is..walking or the monorail. The driver may offer to drop you off...or he may simply give you the info you requested...and then head to MK where you will have to find your way over to the CR. This is what happens more often than not.
And add to that the fact that the monorail doesn't start running until 7...you will have to walk from MK..takes about 8-10 mins depending on your pace.

And the idea of calling down to the front desk, or concierge, to find out about bus timing??? Don't do it. They have no idea. I have asked the front desk, or what I thought was the front desk, what time the buses start running. I have almost always been told...'About an hour or so before park opening'. I have found resort CMs to be less than helpful, or even close to accurate, when talking about transportation issues.

I would just take a cab. It will be worth the price. You can leave your resort at about 6:40 and get dropped right at the CR. So much easier than worrying about timing and buses.

People have said before to allow anywhere from 40 mins to an hour to get to your ADR, especially when it's at a resort. Going by that, getting the first bus at 6:30 isn't enough time. You still have to walk to Contemporary when you get off the bus. Granted, I'm sure there's not much traffic or very many people that time of morning. I don't have any experience at this time of day as far as buses go, so I would also just take a cab to be safe.
