I have a 7:30 Chef mickey. How do I get to MK from there and will we make it in time for Rd

My guess is that you'd get there shortly after 9, so missing rope drop by a few minutes. That would be fine by us but if you want to be part of the crowd led to 7DMT or A&E, and/or see the rope drop show, you should be there by 8:15-8:30.

Chef Mickey's often gets behind on seating. If you ARE seated on time, I would suspect you'd be finishing up around 8:30, and then have about a 15-20 min walk to MK.

yes, be sure to arrive early. i believe that even if your reservation is at 7:30 there is no guarantee of being seated at that time. It just means you get put on the list to be seated. When we ate there we didn't get seated for 15-20 min after our reservation time. It also took at least an hour for all the characters to make it to our table. My young children were long done eating at the buffet, but we had to wait for Mickey!! In my opinion, you wont make it for RD. Sorry.

So glad I got 7:30... I've been searching for an 8:00, but seems like I actually need earlier! We are coming in from the west coast and this is our first park day, so waking up bright and early will be fun

maybe keep checking for cancellations for an earlier time? You can walk there, but CM always seems to be running behind. We have waited every time we have been there.

Walking direct from CR to MK will take about 10 minutes. Taking the resort monorail will require stops at TTC, the Poly and GF before getting to MK. That can take 20 mins or so (not including waiting time to get on the monorail at CR).

We have 9:30pm reservations for Chef Mickey on our final night at Disney.

Is it better to drive (we have our car) or take transportation to Contemporary resort. We are staying at POR.

I am still hoping to find an earlier reservation but nothing yet.

better? depends...more direct, less waiting...but you can take the bus from POR to MK and catch the monorail, then reverse on the way back...but at that time of night, you might be better off not dealing with the waits, and just go ahead and drive.

Run like . . .

1) Just kidding . . . maybe.
2) You will need to ask for your check when you order drinks.
3) In this manner, you can pay and walk when you are ready.
. . . people sometimes wait 15-20 min for a check after eating
. . . then you wait to have the check processed for payment
. . . getting the check early stops added time at the end of the meal
4) But, as mentioned, the schedule of the characters may dictate when you leave.
5) It *usually* takes 1-hr to see all the characters
. . . characters are on-stage for approx 20-min per cycle
. . . they will then go back-stage for their break, while being replaced
. . . the "handler" remains the same, so he/she comes right out with the replacement

OP - we came from pacific time to eastern and had 8 am Crystal Palace first morning. And relied on Disney buses so we were out of our room at 6:45. Kids rallied better than DH and I did
