Hello everybody, I am taking my daughter for the first time next September :dance3: and she loves Mickey, so I want to take her to a Character Breakfast, so in your opinion, which one is best, Chef Mickey's or Tusker House?

Thanks a lot for your help!

No question in my mind! Tusker House is my favorite buffet and I would never go to Chef Mickey's again - ever! I've been twice and it's been dirty and noisy and the food was horrible! Add that to the fact that it's out of the way while a pre-park opening ADR at Tusker House will get you done in time to be on the first Safari, and it's a total no brainer!
Of course, there will be people recommending Chef Mickey's....

My vote is Tusker House...we will never go to Chef Mickeys again...food and interaction is much better at Tusker House. Our fav breakfast...although we did enjoy Ohanas breakfast but the characters there hardly even stopped or interacted.

so glad to see the good reviews of tusker house. we have an 8:05 breakfast adr there in december. we picked it over chef mickey's just b/c it's in the park. chef mickey's food also doesn't really impress us, but our dd thinks she can't live w/out breakfast w/ the mouse!

Tusker House!
Food is great. Good characters.
Plus, you will already be in the park!

We love Chef Mickey's for breakfast - it's one of our favorites. We've never found it to be dirty, noisy, or have horrible food - perhaps we've just gotten lucky the past 4 years that we've eaten breakfast there :confused3 Anyway, we enjoy the fun/upbeat atmosphere of CM - the characters will dance around the restaurant to music & get the kids to wave napkins over their heads. We've found the buffet to be good - it's standard breakfast fare, but good nonetheless. The great thing about CM is you see the Fab 5: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto. We always get an early breakfast adr so we can make it to rope drop - usually at MK since it's so close - it's a great way to start off the day.

We've been to Tusker House 3-4 times - it's probably our least favorite character meal. The food is good, but we don't care for the atmosphere and the character interaction there has been by far the worst of all the character meals we've been to (extremely rushed).

I don't like Chef Mickey's. I've tried twice because I really want to like eating there . Our last attempt was breakfast in August 2010 ... blech.

I don't understand how The Crystal Palace, which is another buffet just stone's throw away in the MK, can be so much better in terms of selection, presentation and taste. :confused3

I guess CM is just resting on it's laurels and location. I'd give Tusker house a shot.

Tusker House! CM doesn't even compare in my opinion. The food is so much better and you still get Mickey (and Daisy which you can't find anywhere else).

We've only ever been to TH. But from what I can tell it seems like it could be hit/miss depending on which day/time your reservation is.

Quite honestly, I've never really thought about CM. We're doing TH again this year and then CP on our final day. We like getting into the parks earlier, and the characters at TH are quite interactive, always have been with us anyways. IT all depends on how you relate to them I think, if you're excited, they'll be excited, if you're bummed they'll avoid you. Well some will other's will try to get you moving .. LOL :rotfl:

This might be not much of a help, but we just loved Chef Mickeys. We just went for the first time a few weeks ago and had a great experience. I thought the food was great! And it's just a short walk or monorail ride to the MK. That being said, I've never been to Tusker House.

Next year we're going to try Tusker House, primarily because it's actually in the park and has my sons favorite characters, and we'll be able to just start touring the park instead of eating and then having to get transportation somewhere else. We're going to try the Crystal Palace breakfast for the same reason. I wasn't thrilled with the Crystal Palace dinner, but I've heard great things about breakfast.

Good luck!
Deb

We like both but if you have to see Donald - Tusker House is a must btwn the two. CM is our family tradition each trip.

Thanks to all for leaving your opinions, I am still scheduling our meals and the one WE MUST DO, according to my wife, is a character meal with Mickey, so I thinks we will go to Tusker House.

Thanks again.

I like both, but the food was better at Tusker House.

That being said, I think the best Mickey Mouse character interaction I have had at WDW was at Garden Grill. Because the restaurant is small, the characters make it to your table more than one time and they stay a little longer. The food is mediocre, but the characters are awesome.

I am also considering Garden Grill, but since it doesn't serve breakfast, we will also go there, ore maybe not, since the plan is "Breakfast with Characters", I will have to negotiate this with my wife and my mom, who are also going.

Thanks again, since with your post I will be able to convince them to do both a character breakfast and lunch, ja ja ja
