Hi! Can anyone share their opinions/experiences on Chef Mickey's for dinner? I trying to figure out where to bring my niece & nephew for a character meal and they said that they liked Chef Mickey's. They were there for breakfast during their trip in Oct '06. However for our up-coming trip, dinner on our first day would be more convient and I haven't seen too many posts about dinner there.

It's been since 06 that we ate there for dinner and we really enjoyed it. The character interaction was great and so was the food! We had breakfast there last year but I liked dinner much better. Last year we went to Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner and it was wonderful. The character interaction was the absolute best  of anywhere and we have eaten at almost all the character dining meals. That being said, CM for dinner in my opinion was really good too.:thumbsup2 I hope this helps a little.

This was our first meal for our first vacation to WDW...and I have to say that CMs is the way to start ANY vacation!!!!! It was so wonderful as far as food, CMs, Character interaction and atmosphere!!!! Our whole family agreed (after two weeks) that CM would always be our way of starting our WDW vacation!

We are going to Chef mickey's for dinner in just a few weeks, i hope it's good b/c it's our first meal in disney and i don't want to start off wrong!!!

I just posted this on another Chef Mickey thread.

We went for Breakfast and for Dinner in October. Dinner was our first meal there and it was fine. The buffet food was set up and tasted very much like any chain buffet that you go to. Fine food, but nothing really special. You're truly paying for the characters here. I must remember though, I have been spoiled by more gourmet buffets (for Chef Mickey Prices) in Vegas.

The character interaction at dinner felt a little rushed and not very personal. We'd been here for breakfast before (in 2004) and remembered much better character interaction.

We went for breakfast later on in the trip and the interaction was AMAZING! The food was again fine, in my opinion a bit better than the dinner food, but nothing that I'd go rushing back for just to eat again. If you're mostly interested in food, the breakfast buffet at Boma is much cheaper and has food that is as good or better.

However, if you're going for Mickey and the gang - Chef Mickey's Breakfast is the way to go!

Dinner is fine, but it's really just for the characters. We had the first seating for both breakfast and dinner and there was a noticeable difference in the interaction from the characters. Dinner was very much show up, take photo, sign autograph and hurry on (even though the restaurant wasn't even full yet and it was my son's second birthday) Breakfast was more playful with characters spending time playing and interacting with the kids! It was wonderful to watch!!

Four words that sold it for my upcoming trip: Ice cream sundae bar

We're going there our first night. The kids can't wait!

Hi from NH. Chef Mickey's is our first night tradition! We really like the variety and my son loves the sundae bar. On our last visit this past August we also went for breakfast and that was yummy too. A nice bonus is that the kids can enjoy the monorail ride to and from MK.

I went in '05 for dinner and it was great. The characters half the time sat at the table with us "talking" and acting silly. We had such a good time that it's our first table reservation for when my mom and I go in
August. Can't wait!!!!

This is a GREAT way to start off your trip...it gets everyone into the Disney Spirit from the start....have fun and EAT MUCH!

Took our 2 nieces there before the MNSSHP because of convenience and I wanted them to eat with the characters. THey had alot of fun but the food was terrible....even the 2 kids didnt like the cold pizza or the hard chicken fingers.

We've had dinner there 3 times, and we've got reservations for our arrival night dinner in August.

This is the one place all 3 kids insisted we go. The food has been excellent (2003), mediocre (2006) and very good (2007). The atmosphere is loud and busy. The characters are fun, though we preferred it when Chip & Dale were there. But as you can see, it's become a tradition for us.

My husband and I have ressies there for our fist nite at Disney. They are for 8:50 pm on a Tuesday March 4th. We are without chldren this trip and are doing this because we never have been there before. After dinner is over we will hope a bus to Market place then back to ASMU. Do you think we will be rushed out of there? I have tried to get an earlier ressie but have not been able to. where is the bus stop to get to DTD.
Thanks

Thanks everyone for the repiles! You are definitely making it sound like a good idea. From what most of you have said, the food seems decent which is good enough for me for a character meal. We definitely thought about breakfast but with only 3 park days, I didn't want to cut into too much park time. But then again, it is still 9 months until we go so we could change our minds. :rotfl2:

Hmmm, sunday bar??? I can't wait.

ShannonN, on your LTT recommendation, I looked into it but unfortunately, my niece is an extremely picky eater :rolleyes1 and I don't think that she would eat anything on the menu.

Basically my niece eats breads, pastries, fruit (not sure how this made the list :rotfl: ), pancakes, sausage, waffles, chicken fingers, french fries, and sometimes pizza. So, particularly since she will be charged an adult price, we are looking for a buffet that has chicken fingers for her and a variety for the rest of us.

Please keep the opinions coming!
