Chef Mickey for Dinner was a real letdown

I'd love to try Chef Mickey's but I would NOT go there just for the characters. The same characters can be seen elsewhere (other character meals, Epcot, AK, etc.) and the food is so good at other character meals (Tusker House, Ohana, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare) that I hesitate to take the risk... but I'm hoping the reviews of Chef Mickey's get better.

I remember back in the day....couple of years ago....it was near impossible to even get in at CM.

We were just there two weeks ago, and it was still impossible to get in. We tried repeatedly to snag a cancellation rezzie for breakfast all week and was never able to. We were happy we tried crystal palace instead, we enjoyed it a lot. Seeing these bad reviews, it sounds like it was for the better.

We ate there on our arrival night. I thought the food was ok, the interaction wasn't too bad. Their salmon and parm mashed potatos were wonderful though!

We ate at several buffets, and I thought they were all over-priced for what we got, but we were on the DDP so that is why we chose them. Would I pay OOP? No, but that is my opinion.

I think everyone should try it for themselves as everyone has different experiences and tastes.
