My husband and I are heading to WDW (epcot for the F/W festival) in October and I really want to meet/have my photo taken with Mickey. I made a breakfast reservation for us but I am kind of concerned that the characters will skip us because we don't have any children with us. Has anyone had any experience there?

My husband & I just went to chef mickey's last jan. We were worried about the same thing, but they still came to our table. We were able to get pictures, but I don't think we had as much fun as the families next to us. It seams like it would be a much more fun experience with kids.

If they do happen to skip you, the servers are pretty good there. Just tell them and they will have the characters come out to you first. We have accidentally been skipped in the past with our two girls. FYI, get your food quickly because once they start coming out it is very fast paced!

Thanks for the responces. I figure I wont get the interaction that kids get (not sure if me or DH would want that!) but this trip is a makeup for our disaster trip during tropical storm Debbie, where I didn't see Mickey at all in the MK and was so dissapointed. We only plan to do 2 days in Epcot, so I wanted to be sure to see Mickey this time.

We're going or breakfast so I am really hoping for some of those little Mickey Waffles.

I'm sorry to hear about the "Debbie Downer" messing with your vacation. I hope this trip will be great. I agree that the CM's try to get mickey (and friends) to every table, so I'm sure it will be fine. Enjoy your time with mickey :)

My DH and I did Chef Mickeys alone on our trip in September and all the characters came to our table. In fact, Mickey and Goofy both were playing around with my husband because he wouldn't get his picture taken with them. Our problem was with the familiy next to us that didn't think we should have time with the characters because they had kids and we didn't. Their kids kept jumping in our way when we were trying to get pictures and they encouraged them.

We made a reservation there too and i hadnt even thought about this...i guess we are all big kids in Disney! haha i just assumed they would come to us like we are used to at Cape May! I hope so...this is our first time there!

Mom and I went to Chef Mickeys last year for breakfast, the characters were great! We got pictures with all of them. Goofy kept covering mom's face with his gloves for the picture and Mickey was trying to take her coffee.
We are in our 30's and 50's. We have been to several character meals (and lines for that matter) and everyone has been great with us.
Go enjoy yourselves...everyone is a kid at Disney

I have been on many adults only WDW trips and we ALWAYS go to character meals, at least two or three times a trip. :thumbsup2 Of course we always take pics with the characters, that's the whole point. If a character misses you, it is by accident, not because you don't have kids. This happened to us once at 1900 Park Faire, we just let a CM know and they came to us first after their break.

I don't like strangers in my pics, if kids were coming up to the characters while we were taking our pictures I'd tell them to scram and wait their turn. :rolleyes1

Hubby and I were at Chef Mickey's on our last trip and the characters were great. We've been to other character meals too and never felt snubbed because we didn't have little ones with us. We've even waited in lines around the parks to meet the characters. Last trip was during hubby's birthday and he had a shirt with the princesses on it which said "Princesses, it's my birthday, how about a birthday kiss?". And all of the princesses were joking around with him. It was really fun.

On a side note, we're also going in October. This will be our first F&W and MNSSHP. We're actually going Halloween week and we plan on dressing up for the Halloween party.

Thanks all! That does make we feel lots better. We will be there at 10:15 on Oct 29th...are last day there. I am really looking forward to getting my picture with Mickey. Steve isn't as excited probably, but I am enough for both of us I think!

I've done Chef Mickey's twice solo and each time have been visited by all of the characters and have gotten pictures taken with them.

I have been with other adults and never had a character skip my table. Just see the pic to the left taken at the Garden Grill in Epcot.

We ate at Chef Mickey last time we were in Disney. We had all the characters stop and interact with us and there were no children with us. I do agree with the other poster about telling te kids to scram. We very politely told them to wait their turn. The CM backed us up too, told the kids that Mickey was looming to them next so then they left. Have fun...Chef Mickey's is one of my must dos on every trip.

Maybe a dumb question - but in what way/how do the children (or adult) not wait their turn? Do they come up to your table with the character? I'm afraid I would need to keep it real.

DFi and I always go to Chef Mickey's during our trips. We have no kiddos and always have a BLAST. The characters are great as are the servers. We've always enjoyed it!

They won't skip you. My BF and I love character meals. The environment is fun for all ages, and the interaction is great. :thumbsup2

We're doing CM the first time this year as well. Any other character meals we've been at has been great. The characters make time for the adult crowd too! Also, if you want your picture taken with them or an autograph don't be shy. DH and I don't do the autograph part but, we always do the pictures. Even in the parks, if there is one of our favorite characters, we'll stand in line to meet the character/s and get a snapshot. Have fun.:goodvibes

I usually travel the World with my sister (also an adult), or both of us with our parents, and we usually do character dining! We all love it and never feel weird or left out. I get the feeling that the characters enjoy a brief respite from the kiddies, too haha. Some of my favourite family memories are from character dining as adults. Go ahead and do it, it's so much fun!! :)

My hubby and I went 2 yrs ago because we like a wide variety of food and we wanted to be big kids and have a character meal. It was wonderful! All the characters came to our table more than once. Last year, I took my grand kids and of course, they loved it. The pictures I have are precious to me. This Dec., hubby and I are taking my brother and sister. My brother is almost 50 and has never been to Disney, so Im super excited to share Chef Mickeys with him. This time we are doing breakfast:yay:
