Hopefully this this the right forum.

Considering the photo you get taken before you dine at Chef Mickey doesn't involve any characters, does a lot of people tend to purchase this?
I'm suprised they don't have a picture taken with Mickey himself as surely this would sell far more han some mural?

Do they actually push you to buy the photo or is it easy enough to politely refuse?

ago the picture was with Goofy. This past trip it was with a small (3 foot?) statue of Chef Mickey. The picture this trip was good and we considered buying it but did not. Nor did we buy the pictures with Goofy from previous trips.

when we went with a large group of neighbors. We bought a pkg so we could all have a photo. It was a fun trip and we loved our photo. PLUS the food at Chef Mickeys Mothers Day brunch was Excellent...

We bought it b/c it was A) the only pic with our whole group together and B) the only picture we had where ALL the kids were smiling!

Usually we pass them right by! We passed on the one at Goofy's Kitchen in DL. Thanks but no thanks......

We actually didn't even get in line to take the photo at all once we saw it wasn't with a character. And they were fine with it. The CM even almost rolled his eyes like - yeah, we know this isn't the most exciting set up; no problem if you skip it. :)

We wound up with a lot of great photos when the characters came around to the tables -- but it was hard to get one of us together at the same time since it was just DH and I.

I have bought them over the years and have the magnets lines up on our fridge. I had every intenetion of buying it again on our recent trip as we were due for an update, but not only have they changed the Mickey in the picture, but they no longer offer the magnets. :( I dont have room for another big picture so we didnt buy it. I was so disappointed.

I didn't buy it last time because we didn't look so great in the picture:rotfl:. But we did buy the one from our 'Ohana breakfast -- the picture came out nice, we were staying at Poly and it was the first morning of our trip so I figured it was a nice keepsake.

We didn't buy it as they took our photo with our own camera also. Its too bad they don't let you photopass it either for how much you spend for that package :sad2:

We bought it and I'm really glad we did! It sits in a magnet sleeve on our fridge and every morning I see our smiling faces with a little Mickey in front of us and wish I was having breakfast at CM's again!!!!

Actually, you can add it to your PhotoPass. Our family was at Disney a few weeks ago and ate at Chef Mickey's. The picture was very good and we ended up buying it. I asked about getting it added to our PhotoPass and the cast member showed me that the PhotoPass code was on the 8x10 in the upper left-hand corner. I went on the PhotoPass site, added the code to our account, and the pictures showed up. When we ate at Cinderella's Castle for lunch, the PhotoPass code was on that 8x10 also.

After having our picture taken many times and refusing to buy it - I felt like it was all a waste of photo printing paper etc (we're into the environment and this seems like a lot of trash to create) - we started to tell the CM's "no thank you" when asked to do the picture. All have understood and been great - no problems.

we bought it- we figured why not. altho i do agree with a pp that it should be able to add to photopass. altho that being said, when you get your package, the wrapper that holds the 4x6 pics says that you can add it to your photopass by using the code on the back of the big one. tried this and it didnt work for me.

Since my family and I knew in advance we didn't want to purchase the photo we declined to have our picture taken, so that's another option you can tell the Cast Member.

Keep in mind you can only add the restaurant photos if you purchase them (or if they were given to you like at CRT or Akershus). If you decline the Chef Mickey photo, you will not be able to add them to your photopass.

I usually pass on those, as I have the CM's take a photo on my own camera. When they brought the finished print by the table though, my husband and son were both smiling so I bought it. I'm glad I did, as the one on my camera didn't turn out well. And I enjoyed adding the Disney borders on Photopass later.

1) We usually do not buy any pictures.
2) We did once, since the ENTIRE extended family was present.

They told us in August we couldn't when we asked specifically :sad2:

We didn't buy ours, and neither did any other family around us. It's just a picture with a STATUE of Mickey...not worth it. There are SO many wonderful places to take pictures in Disney World, so paying for a picture with a statue seems pointless. We did have somebody from a neighboring table take pictures of us together with characters, though, which turned out fine. :) Hope this helps.

Unless you take a picture every trip, like we do. I have a lot of the magnet photos, and now I just buy a magnet that fits a 4x6. We are looking at our last trip in April before DD#1 graduates HS, and it's cute to compare it to our first trip in 2000 when she was 8 years old!:)

I usually buy the pictures if we go to a place that you have to purchase them. We like them. I have refused before, once when we went to Tusker House and it was just the masks in the background and I figured what's the point but at places like Chef Mickey's, Hoop Dee Doo, Tusker House when Donald is in the picture we buy. I usually bring a $200 disney gift card just to buy pictures from restaurants. At the end of the trip it is nice to look back and have that as a token to bring home with us.

We always pass. I'd rather have a photo at the table, which they don't offer. If they did, I would buy it(with Mickey or Minnie).
