We want to go to CM this year, but not sure which meal.

MMy kids aren't huge breakfast eaters, but would be into the mickey waffles and sausage, they may like that better than the dinner choices (or should I say that DS would - he is picky).

But, I don't like missing the Am for a character breakfast....

we are staying at the Poly, so can take the monorail over to the Contemporary easily. I am considering doing the breakfast on our last day when we head to the cruise....

that way, we can get a better deal with what the kids will eat and not miss the park for it.

Which do you prefer...breakfast or dinner at Chef Mickey's and why?

We have done both and have really enjoyed them.

We try and do them on a non-park day since it can take up a bit of time. We have really found that it is a wonderful way to start our vacation (dinner the night we arrive) or a nice way to say goodbye (morning we leave).

I think your plan of going for breakfast the morning of your departure for the cruise is a great solution. I agree that the Mickey waffles can't be beat! I would think picking the latest seating possible that works for you would be the way to go ... a "relaxed" morning (;) ), get your bags down for transfer and then head out for breakfast. You can fill up on a larger meal and then not have to worry about getting to hungry while boarding the ship, getting settled, etc. and be ready for dinner.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

We've done breakfast and dinner. Liked breakfast but not dinner.

We've also gone to breakfast on our last day, which was a great end to our trip. Before heading off to a cruise would be a great transition, especially since we've found the character breakfast on the cruise very rushed, especially if you're the first seating.

Have a great trip,
Julie

We much prefer breakfast over dinner. We've never had a bad breakfast; dinner can be either good or bad--we've had both.

I voted for breakfast, but we love both. CM breakfast is the only meal we have done on every one of our trips and always will. I am not a breakfast eater, but the family is and even I LOVE it. The food is great, the characters are wonderful, it is one of the highlites of our trip. We have also started doing dinner the last 4 trips, specifically that is where we spend Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoy it very much too, but there is nothing like the breakfast.

We go on our last day, the latest ADR. We go as more of a brunch. It fills us for a while. It is our way of saying goodbye to the Fab 5. It is always bitter sweet, my kids are usually sad (who am I kidding we are too), but it gives us one last burst of Disney before we go. I think going before your cruise would be very nice. Either way I don't think you will be disapointed...

We have done both, the character interaction at both is awesome, the food at dinner is terrible and the breakfast (did it earlier this month) was delish!

Thanks everyone.....

I think I will try to do breakfast on the day we leave for the cruise...then head to port and start part 2 of our trip.

Good choice. I prefer the breakfast at CM.

I am going to go with breakfast, though I've never had either. I have hardly heard anything negative about breakfast but I have about dinner.

I found dinner to be much better. The breakfast buffet has many items that have cheese in them. To my family, it was too much cheese for breakfast.

Well now I LOVE LOVE LOVE cheese!! that clinches the deal for me. :rotfl2:

We've only done breakfast and enjoyed it. My kids loved the breakfast pizza, mickey waffles, and the gummy bears!
