Chef de France?

You know the Seinfeld episode where Jerry's girlfriend's looks change depending on the lighting? That's kind of how I feel about Chefs de France. We've been there and enjoyed a tasty meal in a quiet, relaxed setting, and we've also had meals that were "meh" and the place was loud and chaotic. IMHO earlier in the service (whether for lunch or dinner) works better; we've been there later in the evening and I'll just say it wasn't peaceful or laid back. Some of our favorite items included the bisque and the French onion soup, macaroni and cheese, beef short ribs and the salmon.

I've been there many times (always for lunch) and have really enjoyed the experience. Service has generally been good, the food is delicious and I've never had a problem with the tables being uncomfortably close. Well worth a visit.

I have been at night when it was a full dining room, and I really enjoyed the vibrancy of the diners. However, I think we ordered bottles of champagne each of those evenings, allowing my tolerance for others to skyrocket, my normal anxiety to evaporate, and my ears to go a bit numb .

It's okay. Not the best but not horrible either. Someday I will go back, but there are so many other amazing options it just doesn't make the "must do" list for me.

We've been for dinner; great service, atmosphere, and food. The duck was fabulous!!
