Cheesecake Factory??

Taco Time?? LOL Man, I loved TT when I was a kid. We didn't have one in our town but there was one in a town we visited often. We always ate there, LOVED it!! But, I went back when I was visiting Mom one summer and it wasn't as good....I don't know why but it really wasn't. :confused3 I was sad.

That is really sad to hear....DH and I are always naming TT in those discussions of "I sure wish we could go to...." but that list is pretty long (am I saying the food is not as good out here?:goodvibes ) so if it's no good when we come to visit, we'll move on to the next restaurant we miss!

Oh, my. I did NOT know there's a Cheesecake Factory at Southcenter. Is it part of the new addition?

That would certainly be closer than the Seattle one, Queen Billabong, if you are staying at a hotel near SeaTac. Southcenter is only about 5 miles from the airport.

Ok, I don't think I personally would take a taxi to downtown Seattle to eat at Cheesecake factory, but I'd take a taxi to one at Southcenter.

We used to live in Kent, nearby, and I was the airport picker-upper for my extended family. Plus I worked at Southcenter for 5 years, full and part-time. That new addition looks huge, but I have not yet had a chance to explore it on my trips down to that area.

Avalon, where did you work in Southcenter? I was with Camelot (probably called FYE now). We lived in Kent at the top of the hill across from Happy Donuts (not too far from Fred Meyer). We really thought we were moving up in the world when we moved "down the hill"! We still had a Kent address but it wasn't as seedy. Ahhh, the good old days!

Cali, I started out working at Frederick and Nelson during their death throes, right after I got married in '89. I worked in the Arcade, in housewares, and the manager of the Waldenbooks used to come in all the time, and she kidnapped me when she found out I used to work at a WB before. So I ended up an assistant manager at WB for a couple of years, then went part time when I went back to grad school. Trying to remember where Camelot was; was it down on the J.C Penney's end?

We lived on East Hill, too, but I don't know where Happy Donuts is! We lived between Panther Lake (212th) and the Fred Meyer at the top of... James? is it? I forget. Anyway, we lived there 9 years (well, 11 for my hubby), and just about the time we moved, the neighborhood was starting to get seedy. Living right off Benson we heard a lot of sirens, we had a car run into our house one night, there was starting to be graffiti on houses on 116th. Yeah, we were done. It used to be nice but it was getting kinda bad. It has changed so much in the 10 years since we moved, I can hardly recognize Kent!
Small world, huh? :)

I looove Cheesecake Factory :lovestruc We plan to eat there in San Francisco and Las Vegas on our upcoming trip, the 'incredible grilled eggplant sandwich' is my bf's favourite restaurant meal in the world :) I think if I could bring one restaurant over here then this would be it!

Ooooh, seems like a good place to eat. We might try it in Anaheim + Vegas (if we really like it!!!!) Thanks!!

If you are in Vegas, we also have the Grand Lux Cafe. It's owned by the Cheesecake Factory and the food is just as good imo. Cheesecake is the same. There is one at the Venetian and one at the Palazzo. I know the one at the Venetian has a walk up area (think bakery) where you can just get dessert. The menu is different than the Cheesecake Factory, but just as good! If you are restricted to the Strip, you might want to try this option, depending on the time, the wait might be less.

It looks like we'll have to either have appies or share, as taking something to go really won't work for us as we're gone the next day (and I don't want to go to DL taking leftovers with me :lmao: ) I can't wait - we've wanted to go forever but have just not made it for whatever reason (and there are none in Canada :sad2: )

Did they get rid of the one in Victoria?

Janet

HMMMMM, are you staying at a hotel in downtown seattle or seatac? If seattle, which one? I have been on DECA trips where we stayed in seattle for days, and there is so much there. In walking distance from the cheese cake factory is lots of great malls and shopping! It is really fun. There is a huge nordstroms store that is not in a mall, and if you go to the top floor you can take a walking bridge over to a really great mall! I wouldn't have known this if my friend hadn't shown me, and it is a great shortcut!

As a fellow Canadian, I insist you eat at the Cheesecake Factory AND PF Chang's. A must do! They are both in downtown Seattle (where we first tried them) and at the Anaheim Garden Walk which is very close to DLR.
