SATURDAY APRIL 22ND

Awake at 7.15am. Same "healthy" brekkie as yesterday - choc chip cheesecake with cream and a mug of tea (had to fetch it myself today though - mean hubby!)

Today is Blizzard Beach day. Got there at 9.55am thinking it opened at 10am and it had opened at 9am according to the sign on the gate. It was still really empty though and we easily bagged a sunbed or two. With just a 2 minute wait on the chairlift we caught it to the top - never been on this before - queues are usually enormous and it was good fun. We did the family raft ride - now WARNING - there were only 3 of us - you need minimum of 4 to use the family raft ride. We got to the top and these 3 BIG (and I mean BIG) men waiting at the top started cheering when they saw the 3 of us. Yes, you guessed it... we ended up sharing the raft with them. Now, I dont mind but my god with the weight in that rafT we literally flew down that shoot. Poor Ellis was screaming his little heart out - we were getting flung from one side to the other, and as luck would have it as we hit the pool at the end the "tidalwave" just had to go right over me and Ellis and everyone else stayed dry. Ellis was in total shock and vowed "never to go on that thing again".

We had a quiet timeout in the kiddie area - (Tikes Peak I think it was called)

Ellis loved it and went on the ring ride

AND AGAIN - ladies check out the life guard

It was a great area with fountains and bubbles and slides etc

Then after a little coaxing he agreed to go on the family raft ride again as long as it was with "light" people".

Well, we got to the top and found a nice "light" couple and we sailed down with them - not a single splash and it took twice as long to get to the bottom. Much nicer - moral of this story is dont ride with really big people or fear for your lives that you're about to whizz out the tube and travel at 100 miles per hour!

Neil did Summit Plummit - 10 minute wait - and spent the next ten minutes looking for his shorts (not really but we did see some sights while waiting for him at the bottom - ladies - dont wear a bikini .

We chilled in the sun for a while then left about 2pm in search of food. We ended up at McDonalds - Ellis' choice not ours, but hey, its his holiday too. Off to Walmart to top up supplies - (OK, beer and cheesecake)

I'll tell you the flavours later. Neil decided to take a short cut and after an hour and a quarter we got home. Slightly concerned for the wellbeing of the cheesecake in the heat of the boot I had to test a piece to see if it had gone off in the heat , but luckily it hadnt - phew:

After a nice long bath with a glass of red we headed to DTD. Heavy rain for 5 minutes AND ABSOLUTLEY NO PARKING SPACES WITHIN MILES we gave up and headed to Jungle Jims. I had Skinny Minnie chicken and mash - delicious but not that huge - smallest meal the whole holiday (or am I just getting greedier)

Back to DTD to shop in the xmas bauble shop. Some of you may know about my other obsesion after cheesecake and Mickey is christmas, so put mickey and xmas together and its another heaven for me! Last year I spent in my first trip there about $400 and then went back again for about $200 more. This year I fully expected to do the same, so armed with basket I start my quest for baubles on the first stand. Got it , got it, got it, dont like it, got it......etc. What a disappointment. Had already got most of them and those I didnt have I didnt like! The selection has barely changed in 2 years.

I managed to spend a pathetic $100 and then headed off to Once upon a toy. Now I love this shop. Ellis and I spend ages making up pictures of Mr potato head and getting them printed! They have loads of new Mr Potato Head bits I hadnt seen before inc Statue of liberty crown and torch, cruise hat, buzz gun etc etc. Bought another beanie - Mickey as a security guard from the parks -apparantly they have the other characters too but we only saw pluto - didnt like him. Wanted Goofy but he was no-where to be seen.

Back home to "test" some more flavours.

The flavours on this wheel were - strawberry swirl, caramel apple, triple choc and cream style.

I "tested" the strawberry and the apple with cream and wine to wash it down! - yum.

Off to bed for some zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Hope you're not too bored by now. Is anyone counting my cheesecake consumption so far?

Looks like Blizzard Beach has some 'eye candy' :rotfl2: for everyone then! Kids area looks good.

Shame about the Xmas baubles, but the toyshop sounds fun! My DS LOVES Pluto!!!

I occasionally give him a slice to share with my son but not very often

If he's lucky he gets a taste of my slice (if I'm feeling generous!)
My comment to him is "If you wants some - buy your own - this ones all mine, mine, mine!" - meanie arent I!

Karen ~ I think we were seperated at birth as after WDW, Christmas is my next obsession (though I could like cheesecake too after all those fab photos)

I agree ~ very nice lifeguard, though I'm surprised that you didn't walk up all those steps to the Family Raft with all that cheescake eating :rotfl2:

:rotfl: You better believe it Karen! In fact Mandy isn't it nearly time for the Christmas countdown thread?

Have never made it to BB (closed for rehab on last 2 trips ) but may have to try next time to check out lifeguards!

Christmas countodown - sounds like a great idea.
I love christmas - we have 5 trees - 8' in the lounge - this is a completely Disney tree, 7' in the dining room - this has also become a disney tree - too many for tree 1!, 7' in the conservatory - my travel tree - e.g. tiny clogs from Amsterdam etc, 4' in sons bedroom, and a little one in the bathroom on the loo cistern!

I put up my decs late Nov - it usually takes me a bout 8 days

When DH and I went, we were allowed on teamboat springs just the two of us. Don't know what happened that you were made to share.

Sounds like a great day, Karen. Particularly like the look of the triple choc cheesecake.
