I'm sure I'll get poked at for my lack of activity on the forums, and daring to express my opinion. We have been reading the disboards for many years. We visit many different sites to sift through the nonsense and glean information for our vacations, whether parks or cruises.

I would ask, when you meet a new person on your cruise and they dare express an opinion do you tell them to “shut up”, because you just met them and they are not entitled to an opinion?

I wouldn't tell someone i just met to shut up, but if they come out the door insulting something I like despite me saying I like it then I'd assume they aren't very nice (or at least socially aware... we JUST met after all) and steer clear. The cheese plate is nothing to write home about, but a lot of people like it and it is important to them. For a free cheese plate I certainly won't complain, even if it doesn't have european cheeses on it.

It was probably the cumulative complaints from both the clients on all sites and maybe even the CMs having to deal with us that got it brought back. Or not. We'll never know.

I liked the cheese plate okay (it seems to be a more nutritious snack than all those available sweets or fries, or at least that's what I told myself), though as someone that adores artisanal cheeses I would certainly agree it was a pretty unexciting selection. Perhaps something like divine Lincolnshire Poacher would warrant a $30/plate charge? Mmmmm.

I didn't find the OP's post the least insulting. I just thought it was an opinion not a bashing. Though I have experienced a bashing or 2 myself for expressing an opinion that differed from lots of folks here. The way I see it, forums are about opinions and they are not all going to look and sound the same. As long as folks play nice, I think it's all in good fun with some interesting stuff to learn along the way.

i can't help but wonder, when the subject is dying down and hasn't been mentioned for a few days, why someone would make a new thread and poke the bear while they are at it.

its not the subject that makes me wonder, its the timing. and op, as you say, its JMO. sorry.
