According to an article I found online, there will be a cheerleading competition April 24 through 27 with a private block party at DHS on April 26. I assume this means that the park will be closed for a third night in a row (with the 24th and 25th being Grad Nights).

I guess I have to wonder why the powers that be would keep their paying public out of one park three nights in a row, especially over a weekend. (Yeah, the weekend I'll be there.)

What TIME does the party begin?

I've been when the party starts at the closing time of the park.

More:

pwdebbie sent me a link to the info for this event.

The cheerleader info says participants need a "wristband" to attend the party.
That is the procedure used when the party starts after park hours.
Don't know WHEN the park will close to regular guests that night, but it might be close to regular closing hours, I'm guessing.

Time will tell (and so will "the latest" cheerleader info, as some point.)

Stay tuned.

Is the cheerleading competition @ DHS? and is it open the to public.
I loathe the idea of a gagillion cheerleaders swapping a park. BUT my DD would love to watch something like this. If not I will make sure I hit DHS before the 24th.

They usually hold some of the preliminary rounds at the Indiana Jones Stunt Show theater. The finals are held in the Milk House at Wide World of Sports. :cheer2:

When will the cheerleaders be finished with this competition? Just curious so I can plan my DHS days.

if they are competing all 3 days they are there. There wont be much time for them to play on the first day of competion.

The way that cheer competitions work is that the first day or two are the preliminary rounds. This is when each team performs at their assigned time. They are free before and after their performance slot. Most teams will not stay to watch all of the other teams, typically just those in their specific ability level, so YES they will have PLENTY of time to hit the parks. Only the top 10 teams (usually 10) make the finals so all of those other teams won't even bother going to the finals as a spectator so the rest of their trip is a total vacation. I checked out this competition as teams from our cheer gym are going & the prelims are being held at both the Sports Complex and DHS.

According to the USASF site, they will be competing at Studios both Saturday and Sunday.
