Is there a big cheerleading competition going on at WDW this weekend? Where are they staying?

It is this weekend, but sorry not sure where they are staying. The people I know who are going are staying offsite.

Yep, UCA is this weekend. Most cheerleaders I know are staying at value resorts (mainly Wide World of Sports and Pop, but I'm sure they are also at others). They are using the Indiana Jones Theater this weekend in Hollywood Studios as one of their 4 venues (the other 3 are at Wide World of Sports), so I imagine Hollywood Studios will be a bit more chaotic than usual.

Great... we'll be at POP this coming Sunday and Monday nights (checking out Tues) before our Dream cruise.

In February most of the cheerleaders stayed in values, but the varsity stayed at CBR. I wanted to scream at them when they broke into cheers in the line at the food court, or next to my table, or walking anywhere, or on the bus, or in the bathroom, or in the hot tub as we were trying to exit, you get the picture. Hopefully they're not where you are, or their behavior has improved since February.

Does anyone know if they will be at CSR? On Buzz's website, it lists this program but it was unclear if they would actually be staying at CSR.

What dates will they be there? We arrive Sunday 3/11.

Wait until April - the Cheerleading and Dance Worlds 27th through 29th! Epcot will be absolutely heaving!

I imagine they will be staying the night of the 11th too, some of the teams are already there even this evening and because it's a 2 day competition and there are a lot of people flying in from all over the country it doesn't make sense for some of them not to stay.

Sorry to highjack, but is there a listing or website of some sort that would have an overview of dates. We're planning on being there April 20-25, and my son desperately wants to stay at Sports, but I'm not looking forward to having cheerleaders, etc running around. We may need to modify our dates. :confused3

There are definitely large groups staying at POFQ right now. Behaving just fine--just a lot of them!

there are several different cheer/dance competitions in this time frame. 2/25-3/4, 3/17-18, 3/10-11, 4/27-29 all have cheer/dance events scheduled at wws. the first place they're booked when staying on site are the value resorts, during worlds in april i know they also stay at cbr. they may be enthusiastic but imo they're NOTHING like the tour groups you get in dec/jan from out of the country.

Do these cheerleading competitions ever end?? We were at CBR at the exact same time. We were cheering when they checked out:banana: They actually cancelled the Indiana Jones show at HS on one of the days to hold the competition.

1) Yes, this week/weekend.
2) VERY funny.
3) The TV had an info channel for them.
4) Some of the specific rules listed on the TV
. . . no loud talking or cheers 10:00pm-10:00am
. . . must be in their rooms by 12:00 Midnight
5) Yeah, right!
6) I am sure these two rules will be obeyed.

PS - According to the TV, resorts are All Atar Sports & Carib Beach.

Give me an M - M
Give me an I - I
Give me a C - C

You get the idea......be ready!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We Checked into CBR today and so far no sign of them. (knock on wood). I asked the CM when I checked in and she sId she thought they were staying at values...

I know for sure that there's a dance competition also going on right now, as I know a group from Massachusetts staying at POR right now.

Last March I was on a business trip for a trade show at the Orlando Convention Center. I stayed at the Peabody, and the first half of my trip the hotel was teeming with cheerleaders for a competition at the hotel. I have to admit it was a little scary making my way through the throngs of young girls with painted faces and lacquered hair!

As soon as the cheerleaders left, the attendees for the trade show took over ... it was a cellular technology industry event, so it went from tiny beauty queens to thousands of guys talking on cell phones. ;)

We were in Disney Feb 4 - 10th. We had the group called Fifthteen. They were everywhere we went and they were rude. Always pushing pass us and sometimes they even pushed the kids out of their way. It got to where after a couple of days of this we left and went to a different park when they came in. They were really bad at Universal and we thought maybe we wouldn't run into them there. This is the first time we ever had any problems with groups. We've been there during cheer competions before and never had any issues.

I know a large group of MS cheerleaders are headed down there today. Most are staying at the Best Western on Hotel Plaza BLVD in that group. My friends who are friends with them are staying at CBR (though they are not cheerleaders). It should get interesting this weekend to be sure. When my friend asked me "Are we going at a bad time?" I just laughed..:rotfl: Spring Break, Cheerleaders, Conferences...always fun at Disney.:goodvibes

Worlds starts the 27th April, it's the biggest event on the cheer calendar. I absolutely LOVE it but I can understand if you're not immersed in cheerleading why it wouldn't be so enjoyable. If I were you it might seem more sensible to go a few days earlier before everyone arrives or go later after they've all cleared out. Worlds draws a larger crowd not only because of the pull of the title but because it's where the big allstar teams battle it out and with some of them the hysteria surrounding them is just insane and groups will definitely be at Sports.

I'm being sent some great pictures of people stunting in the parks today!

Ugh, the cheerleaders. Between them and the tour groups and all the cheering and chanting, I was about to pull my hair out! Wish I knew all the massive DROVES of cheerleaders were going to be there before we left. Anyway, despite the cheering and the annoying bows (:lmao:), they were very polite. Hope you have a great time! We definitely did! :goodvibes
