Cheer me up, please

Should be down at WDW right now. DD and I had a trip planned starting today and ending on Thursday. This would have been the first time we had been down there to see WDW decked out in all the Christmas decorations. But, due to financial circumstances beyond our control, we had to cancel the trip. I just can't keep from thinking about how right now, we would be down there having a great time. DH keeps telling me there is always next year. Since he is not a Disney fan, he just doesn't understand why I am so bummed out.

I am so sorry. I wish that I could send you there! Can you think of your happy place there, or does that make it worse? Would planning for next year help? That always makes me a little happier.

At least you are in Jax. You could be here with me, shoveling and snowblowing the 23" of snow we got, yep, close to 2 feet. Probably a bit less, but with the drifting, it's about 2 feet.

I know, there are times I think I should cancel my upcoming trip, but I can't because I hate disappointing Michael because he's been through so much this year.

Hang in there and think of the things you DO have. In other words, count your blessings. You'll find thye outweigh the bad.

Just think next year the osborne lights will be back. I had to cancel my trip at Christmas too and yes it hurts but I know in my heart I did the right thing. I put up a tree, just decorated it and keep reminding myself next yr will be better with the Osborne lights. Cheer up, I am in the same boat as you, we can either keep ourselves down or get in the Christmas spirit right here at home. I have to agree with Debster, being where you are is better then up here almost 2 feet of snow or close to it with the wind and drinfts, Oh my aching back. merry Christmas, keep repeating " next yr the Osborne lights"

That's rough. I know you must be thinking about all the things you're missing right now, but your next trip will be better knowing that all the financial issues are taken care of.

aww... you're so close! you can't drive down and do a short trip "on the cheap"? i am the queen of cheap trips; the challenge of working with next to nothing can be part of the fun. you don't even have to go into the parks to get a big helping of Disney Christmas cheer!
