Morning Chicks and Roosters.

Yeah! It's Friday! It's been a weird week. Last night I went to my parents house to pick up my dog and found white paint all over her. Apparently my dad was painting and when he picked her up to take her outside, he didn't wash his hands. Then he said he was too tired to wipe her off. :confused3 How can you be too tired to wipe off a painted dog???? I'm sure it will grow out eventually.

Susan~ are you any where near San Francisco? My daughter's boyfriend is relocating out there for his job (Field Tech for Thermo) and she'll be going out, not sure when yet. They're looking at the San Pablo area? Are you familiar with any of the area?

Jeanny, I'm about 4 hours south of San Francisco so I'm not very familiar with San Pablo. The whole bay area is quite expensive to live but the farther inland you go, the better.

thanks Susan~
One of my friends lives in Granite Bay (near Sacramento) and she mentioned too how expensive it is. They're looking outside of the city, but don't know the area at all. He's going out at the end of this month for training and to look for an apt for the time being as he has to be out there 9/17 to start the new job.

I'm off to work, my football players come back today!! Yea preseason starts!!! It's chilllllly up here today, only in the 70's!!! I think it's October???
Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning. I'm not sure of our weekend plans but I know doing something outside in this heat it out of the question. :headache:

Good Morning! Today is beautiful here. Woke up to 61 degrees, and not supposed to get over 85 today with a cool breeze. :goodvibes

I'm taking the kids to the fireworks tonight and we may go see Underdog today. Haven't decided on that one yet.

Have a great Saturday!

Morning!

It's already warm here too but I hope that I can keep my house cool (no air conditioning). I need to head to Walmart today. I hear they have some soup that I like on sale and I also want to get my pictures from my trip printed. I've got them all on Snapfish so I should just order them from there. My immediate plans are coffee and a shower so I'll be back!

Good Morning. :surfweb:

Busy fun filled weekend of shopping with the kids. You know they never have enough stuff.

I'm breathing a sigh of relief from Hurricane Dean. Sending my prayers out for those in it's path.

Hey chicks and (other) rooster.

Well, my oldest DD's perfect attendance for this school year (her 2nd grade year) is down the drain already. She's been fighting a cold that turned into some sort of upper-respiratory infection. DW took her to the doctor this morning, and she has bronchitis. Oh well. I'm not a real big fan of the "antibiotics for everything" mentality of a lot of doctors, but it seems my DD has been fed so many antibiotics for her entire life now that it's too late to let her fight off an infection with her own immune system. I worry about her future health because of these antibiotics, but I suppose it'll be good to have her week-long coughing fit subside. My opinion would be to get some good strong cough medicine and chicken soup to treat the symptom, but let her own immune system deal with the infection. But I'm voted down by DW and the doctors every time.

On better news, my younger DD started pre-K today. She's going to the same daycare/school she's been going to for the last couple of years. We wanted to have her in our public school's pre-K, which is supposed to be really good. We had her enrolled and everything, but when we did an open house last week, we decided she wasn't a good fit for it. A) Her birthday is 8/31, which makes her extremely young for her class. At not quite 4, she is mentally not quite with the kids that are closer to 5 than 4. B) The public school's program seems geared toward special-needs kids with much greater learning disabilities than our DD has. Our DD is a little behind in speech, not speech in general but just enunciating consonents and some other small issues. She's made great strides in the last couple of months, though, and just isn't in need of any kind of intensive speech therapy that would most likely make her fall behind in other cognitive areas. So we decided that sending her to her old school, albeit in a different room for pre-K as opposed to daycare, was the wisest thing for this year.

Next year she'll be more able to handle the public school environment a little better for her kindergarten year. Our older DD went through the same pre-K and loved it. DW said DD was really happy to have a new hook for her coat, a new cubby for her things, a new room, and many of the same friends she already had. I wish I could have been there. It is so cute to drop your kid off at pre-k and kindergarten and watch them interact with all their friends and their emerging personalities.

Morning everyone!

Grim, I'm sure that you made a great decision regarding your DD. When I ran a preschool, I always told parents that if they didn't feel comfortable with us then it wasn't a good fit and to look around some more. It's so important that parents are comfortable with the program, not just the child. The school I worked at started today, with my mom now running the preschool. I miss those first days of school. There was always so much excitement. :)

As for me, I spent the weekend going through things for a rummage sale. I went through tons of CD's and book. I also went through my cassette tape collection (yes I still have some) and am finally parting with Debbie Gibson, Wham, and a few others. Still holding on to MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice though. :rolleyes1

Yesterday my mother and I were talking and she mentioned that she had a dream where I got married. She then told me that the dream really stuck with her because she was so shocked. I'm not sure how to take that. Is it that much of a shock for to think of me getting married??? :sad2: I'm not *that* old.

Good Morning and Happy

.

Well I walked twice yesterday. Once in the morning as soon as Colin got on the school bus and again last night. Don't get excited, I can't keep up that pace. :lmao: I am trying to get my fanny in gear and shed a few lbs. :confused3

I didn't make it to Wally World yesterday. After all that sweating I just didn't feel like going. Maybe today, maybe tomorrow.

On a happy note I printed out my Christmas List. :santa: I actually have names that I can cross out.

Have a good day!

I think I've heard through the grapevine that we have a birthday guy among us today.

Happy Birthday GoofyDad!
