Hey all,

I was missing Disney like most of us do and thought I would try and make a Disney meal. Although I have never eaten at Le Cellier I was looking over recipes and the Cheddar Cheese soup sounded good. I found the recipe on all ears.net and a video on YouTube. They were a little different from each other but I followed the one on all ears a little more. Anyways long story short I made it and it came out good from what I could tell. The only thing was it was really rich! it reminded me more of a Alfredo and would be wonderful drizzled over steak or pork.

My question is.... For those who have made it or eaten it is it supposed to be some what thick? Also what about the richness?

I don't think in could eat more than a cup at a time and I certainly needed bread to dip it in! Thanks in advance! ;)

I love cheese, but that soup sounds pretty heavy and greasy and not too appealing............

I have had it had at LeCellier and have made it many times at home - we love it. It is a rich soup, but not alfredo thick. Maybe I have a different recipe.

I love Le Cellier but I think the cheddar cheese soup - as a soup - is just good not great. I prefer soups over salads and eat soups all the time and I confess I prefer a broth or tomato based soup because cream soups are just so filling (and they are made with heavy cream at restaurants - not 2% milk like I use at home). BUT I think the cheddar cheese soup as a dipping sauce for the pretzel breadsticks is OUTSTANDING!

I have made a version of the Le Cellier cheese soup and although it has been a while, I so remember it being pretty thick and yummy. I still prefer the real thing in the restaurant, though.
