This seems a little harsh. Teens don't actually have fully developed frontal lobes in their brains and many make really questionable decisions because of this. It's actually science! This decision making centers are just not fully developed. We shouldn't penalize them for something now that, in 20 years they will look back on and shake their heads. Now, I'm not saying that teens should automatically get a free pass when it comes to poor judgment. There should be consequences. But for something like this, should consequences be lifelong?

I'm sure you NEVER did anything idiotic when you were a teenager, right?

If it was my child and I saw that, the cruise line would not have to ban him for life.....I would do it for them!

Can't say I ever did anything that stupid either. That is a little more than under developed frontal lobes, that's showing off to your friends. And yes, there is a difference. IMO.
