Has anyone got a holiday checklist? :flower3: I made one last night and started packing but i've got the horrible feeling that I've left something off the list :scared:

I've got checklists, spreadsheets... you name it.

I split my lists to make them easier to check: travel day, clothes, camera/electrical etc.
I find a way to check my checklist is to walk through the holiday in my mind and see if everything I need is on the list.

e.g. I first get in the train to the airport - train pass - check
Then I go to check in - tickets/frequent flyer - check
Then through passport control - passport - check etc.

Don't stress it, half of what you take you don't use and most things can be bought over there. Just bring your paperwork!!

Exactly the same as us.
Checklists we print off and tick boxes then day before we go have a mental walkthru and check all docs.:)

No checklist here I'm afraid. Just bung a load of clothes and undies in the case. Chuck the toiletries in there and hope for the best :) If you forget anything it's a good excuse to go shopping ;)

As long as you have all the paperwork together....don't stress....

No checklist for me either, I tend to organise most things and usually don't forget anything - maybe I am a 'human checklist'. ;)

Blame it on getting older... but that's why I now have lists!! :rotfl2: And I don't have anywhere to pack. I used to be able to put everything in the spare room but now I can't put all the stuff together until I start packing, so I find it easier with a list, less mental clutter, more room for pre-trip excitement!

Those are my excuses and I'm sticking to them.

But the big plus is that lists make it easier to pare stuff down. I used to just chuck it all on the bed and then pack everything I had there, now with the list it looks like soooo much stuff so I start scrapping a lot.

I have finally gotten to a point where I don't take too much but just enough. For my upcoming week long solo trip I will have hand luggage only, with lots of room to bring back souveniers as well!

I too am a list person - I have list after list. Its the only way I get to sleep at night otherwise I'd be awake half the night trying to remember stuff...this way I just have to remember the lists!

Making lists and checking them twice is what I do best ;) . I have "do to" lists for work, "to do" lists for home, shopping lists, house maintenence lists, schedules, itineraries, diaries...

As long as you promise not to make fun of me, I'll share my holiday checklists :goodvibes . My documents, equipment and toiletries lists remain more-or-less unchanged. I then make a detailed clothes list before each trip.

Thanks Deb i've spotted a couple of things I hadn't thought of. :thumbsup2

yup -another "to do" list person here...

especially before a trip....not just what to pack and documents to take, but also all the things we have to do to close up the house (security company, dog, newspaper, etc etc)...

my hubby always makes fun of me and my lists

now for disney i have a whole book dedicated to each trip, start it during planning and put everything in iy and take it with me x

me too!
i use a notebook for our WDW trip - to keep all the reservations straight...and the schedule/etc.

it makes it so much easier...

and all confirmations are kept in the notebook as well....
so i can whip them out if there's a problem (like when renting the car)...

and included are also all emergency phone numbers (medical insurance, neighbors, travel agent, airlines)..

also our cellphone numbers (since we don't carry our regular phones)...

also in the list are all of our frequent flyer numbers

also a list of all hotels we're staying at with their direct phone numbers..

the list that has the emergency numbers, hotels, our travel mobiles and our itinerary is also sent to our families so they know how to contact us in case of emergency (in addition to our mobiles)
