When you check out and you're not scheduled to leave until later in the afternoon, what do you do with you're luggage, etc..(we've always driven).

Is there a fee to hold it all after checking out?

Thanks.

If I have car I just throw the suitcases in the trunk. But there's usually only two of us so it's no problem to fit it in the trunk.

Or usually you can leave it with the bell desk and they'll hold it for you. Not sure about about WDW, but other hotels, you just tip the bell desk per bag.

The WDW Resorts will hold your baggage for you both coming and going ;)! We always schedule an arrival as early the first day as possible, and leave as late as practical on our last day. Usually, from CT, that means a flight arriving at around 10 or 11 AM, and leaving at 6 or 8 PM. The bell desk holds our bags if our room is not ready (while we explore the resort), or while we get in a final few hours at the parks before having to get the bus/limo back to the airport. Never had any problems... note that we usually stay at a moderate or deluxe, so I can't speak for the values...

It works better in a value resort, one poster a few months ago sidestepped the issue of a late checkout by just paying for the extra night. He said for a night flight it was so much easier being able to go back to the room to shower and not worry about checking luggage.

Keep in mind that some(maybe all) of the resorts have nice changing rooms with showers and hair dryers near the main pool. So, if you do decide to go ahead and check out, you can at least freshen up a bit before you head home, even if you have had a long day in the parks. We did this at OKW and felt very relaxed about extending our visit well past check out time...plus we knew the hassle of getting everything (and everybody!) packed up was behind us!

I agree with jovidan. I'll arrive as early as possible, but the day we leave, I schedule a flight at about 12 or 1 . That way we can leisurly get ready and have breakfast before the towncar comes to pick us up. Then we get home at a decent time and can unpack, check the mail, spend time with the dog, and get a head start on the laundry!

On our checkout day, we were able to get our boarding passes right at the CR, then check our bags with bell services. Then we actually hit "must-do-once-more" rides at three different parks before returning to the CR at 5:00 for our ME ride to the airport. I agree I was a little depressed leaving as others were arriving, but when we returned home that night it was fun to think, "Gosh, we were on Splash Mountain 6 hours ago!"
IMO Disney makes all that checkout stuff really painless. :flower:

Thanks everybody, it sounds like it's not that big of a deal, I didn't want this to stress me out on our departure day, so now I know that is ok.

ccw- I will keep that in mind, good to know.
