We're planning on having a grocery stop (with Tiffany town car) after we arrive in Orlando next week. I really thought this would be a great idea until a few minutes ago... One of the main reasons we want to stop is to get some snacks, breakfast items, bottled water, Cokes, and MILK (our son drinks TONS of milk, and this would save major $$). Anyway, it just occured to me that we arrive at 10am, and the chances of our room being ready for us to get into is very very slim. SO, my question is, what do we do with the MILK?? The other items don't need refrigeration, so it's not a big deal to have them stored with our luggage... Has anyone run into this before? Any suggestions??

Thanks!

any item that needs to be refrigerated is done so. we have had no problem w/this. :earboy2:

We brought a collapsable soft sided cooler, fits in suitcase. When we arrived at hotel, filled it w ice from food court and stored it w all the luggage. Was fine, I had yogurt and milk.

Should we ask at the front desk when we check in or at the place where we store our luggage?

That makes me feel a lot better, thanks!

I'm thinking that you could also pick up a cheap styrofoam cooler and a bag of ice at the market if you didn't want to deal with bringing a cooler with you. Many people on these boards have reported that they just leave the cooler at their resort if they're flying home. We'll be doing the same thing, except we'll have a rental car. I'm not sure if I want to have to bring a collapsible cooler with us, and then have to pack it up to bring home at the end of our stay. It'd have to be emptied the night before and left to dry before we could repack it. Kind of sounds like a hassle. Just a thought anyway. :flower:

Since you're staying at POFQ, you shouldn't have to worry about a cooler since the moderates now have a mini fridge standard in every room. I know at CBR the bellman put our cold items in a huge walk-in cooler upon check in.

I had the same concern, and was told they have cold storage, just tell the bellmen you have perishables. Ya know, what a service, I've never been to a hotel that would do that for you.

Oh this is really good news because I was wondering the same thing... I want to stop when we arrive and I know our room won't be ready because our plane lands at 6:30am

I had thought about the styrofoam cooler idea, but it really would be a waste of money since we'll have the fridge in the room.

I'm glad to hear that they will have storage areas available for refrigerated items! Thanks everyone!

When we checked into VWL in January, we had bags of groceries from our stop. When we discovered our room was not ready, we went back to Bell Services to get our shorts out of our carryons. Bell Services had glanced through all of our grocery bags, put any with perishables in their big fridge, and hung the rest on the rack with our luggage. Couldn't ask for better service than that! They are very used to people checking in with lots of groceries! One piece of advice for your grocery stop ... they're usually limited in time, so have your shopping list already completed so you're not spending time going up and down the aisles deciding what to buy :teeth:

i heard somewhere that you can fax your order to some grocery stores and the order will be ready. does anyone know if this is possible with the tiffany town car stop? also, what store do they stop at??

We used Tiffany Town Car service on our last trip down and I believe we stopped at Publix.
