First time AP question here! We purchased APs and have them linked on MDE. I plan to activate at the IG at Epcot. Has anyone had success checking in with an AP discount prior to activating? We arrive at lunchtime, and plan to explore YC before heading to Epcot later in the evening. I am hoping to avoid walking twice.

I have done this in the past. I believe that you can return anytime within 24 hours to show your AP. I assume they scan the MB? We did it before the MB were in use. Upon returning to the resort after the parks I stopped at the front desk to show my AP :)

I did it when I got my AP, they didn't ask at the front desk (OKW). Since then, I don't think I've ever had to show it for the hotel. It is linked to MDE so maybe they know that way, I do have to show it when I want a discount for food or at shops.

Have never shown AP since tickets were put on MDE. They can see it on your account, they see everything ........ everything.

I would think they should be programmed if you never activate AP then at check out the price would adjust.

we've never had to produce our annual pass and we've checked in on an ap discount at least twice when they had not yet been activated.

We are also first time AP holders. I've read about room discounts. Do you have to call to make the reservation? When I log into our account, the rates don't really seem to change.

Discounts are only out until October 3rd right now. I usually go through the special offers page. There is a link at the top for passholders to log in if the AP offer isn't showing.

We checked in to CR using the AP discount before activating our AP. They didn't question us at check in nor did we have to return to show it later.

We booked a room at POR with an AP discount and we did it online. You first have to log into your MDE account before you will see the Passholder discounted rooms on the Disney website. It will be an option that you can choose in the list of discount options. If you are looking for a date past Oct 3rd, then you won't see any passholder discounts. They haven't released them yet. If you book a room at rack rate or with a general public discount and then an AP discount for that room becomes available later then call Disney and they will apply the AP discount to your current reservation as long as there is availability. :)
