Can you check in and board the ship before you entire party is at the port? My daughter and I will be taking the Disney shuttle from EPCOT. My son will be flying into MCO and going straight to the ship.

His flight does not get into MCO till 1:15. I'm thinking my daughter and I will be at the port way before then. Can we check in seperately?

Also, how late can someone be added to your room? We are PIF and alreay received our cruise documents. Is it too late to add someone to our room?

You and your daughter may check in and process the paperwork when you arrive and your son check in when he arrives later. Make sure he has his ID with him to get through the gate and also helps, but not necessary if he doesn't, for him to know the cabin #.

You may wish to consider waiting in the terminal to board the ship until everyone arrives so you can all enjoy hearing your family announced.

As far as adding an additional person, call DCL immediately and inquire. There may be room in your cabin but not necessarily room in a lifeboat should an unlikely event occur at sea. That is what they have to go by.

Have a wonderful cruise.

Yes, you can check in separately. As long as everyone had his/her ID to gain access to the terminal, you'll be fine.

I believe you can add someone pretty much up until the morning of the cruise. However, to add someone within 3 days of the cruise, you'll need to call DCL, it can't be done online or at the port.

Other considerations - when adding another person, DCL asks 3 questions:
1) Is there space in the room you are trying to add them? (Can't put 4 people in a 3 person room).
2) Is there space in the lifeboat that room is assigned to? (If the lifeboat is full, you can't add anyone)
3) Is there space in the appropriate level kid's club? (if applicable).

If the answer is "no" to ANY of these questions, then you can't add someone.

Another thing, the new person, if you are able to add them, will be charged the prevailing rate, not the rate he/she would have paid on the original booking day of the reservation.

To answe you question yes you can check in separately

But
Wow 1:15 that's cutting it very close. By the time the plane lands you take the train over to the main terminal and get your luggage that can take about 45 minutes. Then it is a 45-1hour drive to the port.
The ship will not wait for people who are late. Is there any way he can get an earlier flight.
You should check with Disney and see what time the last bus leaves.

Yes. The idea of it scares me (in a missing-the-vacation way, not a fear-of-a-tiger-killing-me way).

Unless, of course, the son is taking DCL transfers. Then DCL knows when he is arriving. And, yes, they do wait for late passengers, as well as late bags. Been there, done that.

Thanks all. I did call DCL and yes, I can add him....and yes, it is more expensive than it would have been when I booked.

They said they tell people to arrive NLT 1:30......but will wait till 2 if he is late. The latest on-board time is 3:45 so even if he misses the last bus, he can catch a cab. Cab to the port is $129.

My mom and sister and daughter and I are sailing and have two connecting room. So only 2 people in each room that both sleep 4 (or 5?). He is not said yet if he wants to go.....if he does, I plan to keep it a surprise from his Grammy, sister and Aunt. Be fun for him to just bump into us on the Deck 12. :-)

RE going on the ship together....this will be our 9th Disney cruise......ohhhhh man, I just thought of something!! If I can time it right, we will be near the grand staircase when he comes onboard and they will announce this name!! And then my mom and sister and daughter will hear his name being announced!! LOL This will be fun! Just need him to call my cell and let me know when he is about to board.
