Checking in Questions

Hi, all! We're arriving at the Fort on Saturday (hard to believe!). We have a cabin -- DH's favorite choice in the World. We are renting a golf cart for the first time. Can you guys walk me through the process in getting the cart? I read somewhere that you can do it at check in?

We are keeping the cart from the 8th until the 15th. We should arrive at the Fort around noon. Will we check in as normal? Where exactly is the Bike Barn? Any advice is appreciated!

The golf cart rental process has just changed in the past few weeks.

When you check in to your site or cabin, you can now go ahead and complete your golf cart rental agreement at the same time.

After you check in, you take your rental agreement out to a cast member who will be stationed outside of the Reception Outpost (right out the door on the check in lane side). That cast member will pull up your golf cart for you, and you are good to go.

There are no more golf cart rentals at the Bike Barn.

As far as I know, the official pick-up time for golf carts does not begin until 1 pm. On my last visit, I arrived at 12:30, and had no problem getting the cart. I'm not sure what happens if you get there before 1 and there is no cart available. I guess you will need to come back?

Since you won't be there too early, I expect that you will not have a problem.

Carts are also now returned to the front. There is a new return area off to the far side of the check in lanes. You just drive your cart there, and a cast member will take it off your hands. Return time is still 11 am, regardless of when you pick up the cart.

Thanks so much for the information. I had seen a post regarding a new process; however, they didn't mention anything about that when I called the Bike Barn on my reservation.

Gotta love all the helpful people here.

Tim- Before you make your revisions, I should have mentioned something. It appears that you are still supposed to call the Bike Barn # to reserve golf carts. When I stopped by the Bike Barn to register for the trick or treating on Halloween, there was a cast member there on the phone taking a reservation. But there are no carts at the Bike Barn any more-they are all up front. That won't cause any confusion, will it?
