I understand that many people put swimsuits in their day bag so they can go to the pool before their luggage has arrived.

But is the issue that your luggage might not have arrived or that your room won't be ready? If the room is ready, but the luggage isn't there, that's one thing (you can always take the day bag to the room, change clothes there, and leave the bag.) If you are just wandering around the boat like a homeless nomad, that's another.

The concern is that the luggage won't arrive. When we cruised, they let everyone in their rooms at the same time - about 1:30 if I remember right. I honestly don't know when our luggage got there (it was after that). I don't know if you are allowed to swim before the rooms open up or not. If so, then you'd have to change in a public restroom.

We just got off on 12-2. We were not able to get into our rooms until around 1:30. Our luggage did not arrive until after 3:30. So yes, people bring their suits in their carry-ons and change in the bathroom. The ship supplies towels. Hope this helps..

We bring the suits in our carry on if it will be warm because we usually board at 11:30 and we can't get to our rooms until 1:30. That is 2 hours of pool time for the kids that they don't want to miss.

Just got back - here's how ours went:

They had the rooms roped off until EXACTLY 1:30 - then we went to rooms but no luggage. 2 of our 3 bags were delivered by about 4 - the last bag was literally delivered at the last possible moment - I think 5pm - we had gotten so worried we had even called to check and they said they were still delivering. So I would definitely take anything you might want before dinner just in case....dh was a little concerned since it was his suitcase that was MIA

Same here - 1:30 only some of our luggage arrived. Since we had 4 rooms booked we all ran between rooms trying to see if they were delivered to the wrong room. DH missed the sailaway party due to being concerned about the last piece of luggage. It arrived at 6.
