Checking in Online

The advantage for many people with online check-in is the ability to go directly to a park without having to go to your resort first. People who have a package reservation must be checked in before their tickets are active.

what about people coming over sea like united kingdom

They have to pick up their MB on site, right? If so, they'll have to go to the front desk no matter what, to get their MB.

But you can still use it to inform the resort of any requests that are listed or to give them an approximate arrival time. Arrival time is good as they does let them know if you want a room ready early above all else. They do try to meet this need, if possible. I have pretty good luck with rooms ready before 3:00. Coincedince or because I use online check in to inform them of my arrival time? No idea. But as I've said, I figure it can not hurt. They way I look at it, if I don't use online check in to let them know, then I can be sure they won't know.

Can you call to do this instead? Sure. But Disney's phone system is often bogged down with long waits and to many, a paid phone call. So online is sure the easier way to go. Provided your requests are one of the one listed. I keep mine very general so they typically do fine for my needs

That's probably why you can't bypass check-in. I prefer room-only, too, but they've always made me check-in at the lobby when doing room-only. The one time I bought a package, I got to bypass lobby check-in.

Our last 2 trips were room only and we were able to Bypass The Front Desk.

The 2 trips before that were packages and couldn't Bypass The Front Desk.

It doesn't matter.

I think they use the same algorithm to decide who gets PINs as well as who gets to Bypass The Front Desk.
