As you can see from my signature, we have camped many times at FW but our upcoming trip is planned a little differently. How late can we check into the campground??

You can check in anytime. This last trip we checked in at 3am. It would be a good idea to call ahead and advise them you are running late. We were able to ask for an easier slot to get into so we could pull in, slide out, and go to bed. It worked well and hopefully we were able to keep noise to absolute minimum for our neighbors.

We did have to return in the AM to have our cards activated for charging because they had to manually process our CC at check in because the system was down.

I am assuming you mean a late check in. You may check in early, but it all depends if your site is ready. If it is not, you can still check in you just won't be able to occupy it. Check in time is officially 1PM.

Thanks! Yes I meant a late night check in . I wasn't sure if the gates/office closed and we couldn't check in after a certain time. We plan to set-up only what is need to sleep and then finish set-up in the morning. We are just getting a later start in the day on this trip and wasn't sure if I needed to cancel out our first night. Thanks again for the info.

We recently returned from our first trip to FW. We didn't make it to FW until around 9 pm to check in and it didn't matter. Our site was a bit hard to fit into (#328), but we moved the trailer a bit the next morning and it worked out. Have fun!

BTW we debated for weeks whether to stop on the way down. I ended up sitting out on the picnic table, having a cool beer and relaxing for a little while before going to bed. It was very peaceful and all the critters were out (Armadillos, etc). I was still up at 7am, had my cup of coffee, and it was so nice to be HOME.

We also have checked in pretty late. Once it worked out great and our site was a quick one attempt back up and in. The other time, it was a bit harder. There were cars parked so close to the street that we really had a hard time with the turn backing into the site. Fortunately it wasn't too late and all of our neighbors were up and about. They moved their car so we had more swing room and were all very nice. When we finally squeezed in, they walked over with a couple cold beers for us. :) But, it was about 10PM that time. I cringe whenever I check in super late at a campground because of the stupid back=up beeping that it does (like a bus). So, I try to get places early or just do as you are going to do and do the minimum of set up and get quiet quickly. The funny thing is though, after a long day in the parks, being in the sun and swimming, I have NEVER been woken up by campers. I hear them and the buses all night, but it doesn't ever wake me up. WAY too tired. Glad you have your trip all planned. The one caveat of checking in late is that there are rarely lines. :)

The first time we went to FW was a late check in.....midnight. We backed in, went to bed and set up in the morning.
