So much has changed. My primary goal is getting a good arrival time, of course.

So what is the new procedure to get through to that page? How much and what information will I have to provide?

Some of us are returning guests and others are new to DCL sailing. Will that make a difference?

You will need selfie style pictures of everybody as well as a picture of their passport or other citizenship documentation.

Besides the passport and arrival form what documents do you need to bring for check in?

I would also suggest downloading the DCL app beforehand, and having a copy of your vaccine card (even if it's just a photo). In addition, I would bookmark the Safe Passage website on your phone, so you can easily get the web address to log in.

Very important! You also need to be tech savvy enough to know how to upload your pictures and passport. If you’re not comfortable doing these things, I suggest you get someone to do it for you. We did ours this week and took 2 hours because the system was having issues. I bounced from my iPad, to my PC and finally to my iPhone. Btw, the computer was the worse and I have a new computer. Of course the majority of the folks in our group experienced the same issues. It was not my first time doing the new process as I’ve cruised twice a few months ago.

I had no problem doing the check-in on my pc. Any of the photos I emailed from my phone and put them in a temp folder to access. About 20 minutes total for check-in.

Do the photos and passports have to be done before you can choose your arrival time?

Also, are the photos just a head and shoulders type?

I was surprised about the photo of the passport. So just the number isn’t enough now?

The photos and passports must be done before selecting an arrival time. The photos follow pretty much the same guidelines as passport photos (no objects, no hats, no cats, face forward, shoulders up, etc.). The passport number is required (if you're using a passport), but not sufficient. You need a photo of the page that contains all the info.

Are photos of the passports enough or do they have to be scanned (so they're flat and the watermarks aren't interferring with the data)?

lucky. My PC just had the blue circle of death. Seems a few people got right through at the beginning. I had no problem on my first person, uploads went right through, started with #2, but had 6 people to checkin. The passports didn’t self fill like my past check ins either. it took me over an hour to get to the first PAT. Then had to do cabin #2. Needless to say, my sleep number was ugly that night…😳

We have two cabins, too.

We can start right at midnight, right?

And we can only be signed in on one device at a time, right (per account)?

What about vaccine passports? Or proof of vaccines? Are they needed at any time?

The vaccine info is done later on the SafePassage site 14 days prior to embarkation. One thing I have found out too is that your check-in will say "pending review" until right before sailing. Some have said it is because they verify everything off of your vaccination info once you put that in, but I have no way of knowing for sure. I can do the vaccine stuff on the 7th because we sail on the 21st. I will try and remember to update once I see the pending review lifted.

You can upload to Safe Passage 15 days before sailing.

In September, my photo and passport were approved about 3 days before my cruise, even though I uploaded them weeks in advance. This time, my photo and passport were approved two days after I uploaded them, about two weeks before my cruise departs. So... maybe they're more efficient, now? I don't know.

And the photo and passport can't be uploaded before check in, right? No secret link I'm missing? that's just part of the process?
