Checking in early??? SSR

We are going to be at Disney on May 27th for a planning session, for our upcoming vow renewal ceremony. Our entire day will be filled with activities from planning, dinner and the parks. Our ressies are at SSR beginning on the 28th, I was wondering if it would be a problem with us checking in just after midnight, as it will be Sunday the 28th. I have inquired about renting points with several other members and all have said nothing available at any of the resorts, for the 27th. Anyone ever checked in this early and got their room? I will call in the morning to inquire, but just thought I would check with you guys to see if anyone ever checked in this early before?

Okay, I just called the resort and spoke to someone there and she told me that it would be just fine as long as there was availability, but to call the day before to double check...keeping my fingers crossed.

If nothing is available for the 27th, there will not be any empty rooms unless someone cancels. I think they will charge you for the 27th, you can't officially check-in until after 7:00am I think.

have you asked the planner with whom you will be meeting if they might have some pixie dust that could get you checked in on the 27th?

I think I'm going to try a hotel off property for reservations, for the 27th, just in case.

To add a little to this, it is my understanding that each day's reservations are not downloaded to the resorts until the early AM (2-6AM), so this is effectively the earliest one could check-in. We have checked-in at SSR as early as 8-9AM several times, and they've had no problem with it....

We would be more than willing to wait until 2 am to check-in, also. I've just reserved Residence Inn, just in case.

I never thought to inquire about this. I will mention this to her, though. It never hurts to ask.

If they have a vacancy they would probably let you stay, but they should charge you points for a Saturday night stay. Technically, check in isn't until 4PM on the day you check in, not midnight.

I gave it more thought and rather than create a potential hassle, I reserved a room at for us at Embassy, for that night. Thanks for the advice guys, this was very helpful
