Checking FP+ availability well before your trip

I have tickets linked, but am not using them until March 2017. I am wary of going too far down the rabbit hole in order to check availability.

Can I use our MDE with linked tickets to see FP+ availability without messing with our eventual choices?

In other words can I pretend to book FP+ for 30 days from now, and then cancel them without incurring damage or issues with my linked tickets?

Can I just check availability without booking them?

Is there a suggested course of action?

Yes. You can use the tickets to check availability and to also practice booking.

Cancel all booked FPs at the end if your practice sessions.
