Is there anywhere at the resorts that guests can check their emails? I need to have access to my email during the trip but hate to bring the laptop just for email...
There are phones all around the resorts and parks with an attached keyboard for accessing email. (I think $1 for 4 minutes.) They accept cash or credit cards. I used them several times during my trip and thought they were great. (No hauling a laptop from home.)
At AKL there is a computer kiosk next to the phone bank off the lobby. I used it several times on our last trip. It is 25 cents per minute so you can get 20 minutes for $5. AKL is the only place I've seen them since that's where I stayed last time but I'm sure the other resorts have them too. They also have them scattered throughout the parks.
I don't have a laptop so it was a very convenient way to stay "connected" while at WDW. Even checked in on the DIS every once in a while.
If you have a rental car and are near DD there is a Kinkos near Tony Romas restraunt. It is open 24 hours and they have about 10 PC's with cable modem hook ups. The charge is $12 per hour.........a lot cheaper and more private than on WDW property if you don't want to bring your laptop.
Had a problem using the internet stations in the pay phone clusters at WDW. It wouln'd go to my email page because there too many junk mail items with obscene words in the headline.
Wish WDW and/or the internet station operator would eliminate that filter.
