Does your child's school have this? I can go online and check her grades and discipline history. I love it! I have a fairly good grasp on her grades because I check the stuff she brings home, but if she ever tries to hide a test from me I'll still see the score.

Our oldest DD's school has this and it is great!! Since she is in middle school it is a lot easier to keep up with her grades. My DH frequently checks her grades and if we see any starting to slip we can react accordingly (ask her what's going on, curtail her phone and internet use, etc) The school calendar and lunch menu are also online.

We have this too and I LOVE it. I can also keep on top of my lazy 8th grader and what assignments he has missing. They also have the daily announcements online so I can see if there are changes to his jazz band schedule or if there are meetings I am supposed to attend, etc.

I wish my kids' school had this. Maybe in high school, next year.

Both of my boys are still in Elementary school, and they don't have this. But it would be great!

I usually send both of their teachers e-mails often to keep up with their progress. Both of their teachers are very good at responding to e-mail.

Maybe once they get into Middle School this will be available.

I wish! The teachers at our school each have their own webpages but only one out of the 3 uses it. They're all ok with using email though, which does help.

My kids HS has this also. It is so helpful especially so I can keep up with what my son is missing. I wish rather than just showing what has been turned in and the grade for that, it also showed upcoming assignments and due dates. My son tends to wait till the bitter end to get projects done and then doesn't do well or doesn't turn it in. If I knew in advance what was due I could nag him :rotfl2:

I having this info online is so helpful but so much work for teachers. I really appreciate it though.

We have this where I teach. It is a blessing and a curse. It is GREAT that parents can see their kids grades and kids can too. Attendance is also in there. I love the fact that kids can't hide their grades!

However sometimes it will be a day before I can enter in test grades for all my classes and then I get a parent email or call asking why their kid's grade is so low. Or a project hasn't been graded yet, one that will impact their grade, and the parent punishes the kids for their low grade.

That hasen't happened to much to me but I know some teachers get daily emails from parents.

Our school just started this for HS. It's great all except one of her teachers uses it I wish he would too. Now if my JH son's school would get online it would be perfect.

We have this in my son's middle school. My daughter's elementary school doesn't use it, but she is moving to a brand new school next year and maybe they will.

My son doesn't hide things, he just forgets, and having the grades really helps. We know where there might be problems before they can get bad. Fortunatly, for him a "problem" is whether he is slipping from a's to b's :cheer2: but it gives you a great tool for encourage and positve reinforcement, as well as nudging.

Yeah, and it can be a blessing or a curse. When Benji was having problems in school, I found myself checking his grades every other day, and if I saw a grade that didn't seem high enough, I worried over it and was getting onto Benji. It really didn't help him at all. So, now i check grades once a week. Thankfully, Benji's adjusting and his grades are all good now.

My school just got it. I go on and check my grades every day to make sure I didn't forget anything. I like the attedance part because I can see if I was marked gone when I really was there before it's to late.

My oldest has it - it's wonderful.
The elementary school does not have it - they need it. I just signed a "grade report" showing that my 5th grader has a C in math. :sad2: He's capable of better and I truly had no idea his grade was so low. The term ends next week so no chance he can bring it up. If he had webgrade, I would have made sure he brought that grade up.

Our school system does NOT have this and I wish that we did. What a great idea!!!!!!!!

Our schools have this and it´s great. I can also see online if they´ve been late and info on any upcoming trips, etc.

We have it here, this is the last year it is "optional" for the HS teachers. My DS has 6 classes, 5 of his 6 teachers report the grades, usually within a few days, 2 of the 6 also keep it up to date on upcoming assignments and 1 teacher doens't use it at all. Next year it is mandatory!

I love it but as a previous poster said, I try to only look at it weekly. Our system send me an e-mail when a teacher has updated.
