It allows you to wrap items with loose straps, such as a child seat, without damaging it, and if the TSA opens it, they will re-wrap it for you. It also greatly reduces theft from luggage and damage, for the price of a few minutes spent unwrapping it.That's great, but the majority of US airports don't offer this service. I don't know why you would want to do this; it must be a real pain unwrapping your suitcase. Plus, if TSA decides to inspect your suitcase, you just wasted your money.
And, as I said, the majority of passengers have this option, even if the majority of airports don't. And as I've also said, I've never been to an airport that doesn't have it in the US, so your statement that the majority of US airports don't offer this would appear at face value to be inaccurate.
