For those of you who might use Checker Cab (the cabs that are available at Disney), just wanted to let y'all know there is a slight price increase.
Fares are now based upon 1/8 mile, instead of 1/7 mile. If I recall correctly, it's $2 for the first 1/8mi, and 25 cents per 1/8mi thereafter... so it's only a 25 cent per mile increase. Short trips within WDW will not be affected too much, but the longer trips (to the airport) may be slightly more expensive.
My guess is that this fare increase is to offset the rising fuel costs for taxi drivers.
