Checked rates on Best Rate...NEED HELP!

Okay - first let me say that I am totally not an advocate of this pathetic program. I decided to give it a try and check some rates over Thanksgiving. We just got back for an 8 night stay at the BC, and you know the only cure for post-Disney blues is to book your next trip. We often take a quick 4 night trip over Thanksgiving to kick off the Christmas season.

So I get on the site - after a ridiculously long wait. I select the Poly and I DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, check the box that states that I am interested in concierge or a suite. The stupid thing gives me lagoon view concierge. I can't figure out how to change it. I tried "Alternative Offer" and it gives me Saratoga Springs. Let me also say that the rates it gives are RACK! Okay, so I figure maybe it's because it's Thanksgiving which is totally ridiculous because we've gotten AP rates during this time in the past. So I randomly put in different dates and I put in BC. Again, water view concierge.

What gives? Then, all of a sudden it locks me out due to inactivity. HOW TACKY. I guess they block you out if you don't book.

I thought I would give this a try and try to be open minded, but it's worse than I thought.

Anyone know if there is a code out for Thanksgiving? 11/23-27? I would love to book the old fashioned way. We typically can't book 120 days out, which is the main reason I hate this program. I have more reasons now after trying it. Anyone getting good rates during that time for something other than water view concierge??

It looks like that's all that still available at the best rate program for your dates. I ran it too and got the same thing Poly LV CL $2230.

The upgrade offer it provided was GF Garden view std at $1400.

As the 120 day window is approaching more people are booking and the options are becoming very limited, especially with the holiday. I am going the weeks before the holiday and had limited selections for the available deluxe resorts. Poly was not even an option for me, and it seemed like Saratoga is the default if your choice deluxe is not available. Maybe they have more rooms available there. As far as I know, there are not any codes available yet to call in for reservations for this time period.

for the info and for trying it for me. This truly sucks!! I feel like I've stayed at my last Disney deluxe resort. Which truly saddens me. I tried Coronado for those dates and the rate was $121.00. I tried WL and it gave me $279, which I think is rack rate. I stopped trying because A) it kicks you off if you don't book and B) the more I tried the madder I got. I hope they rethink this program and discontinue it.

But, there is hope: The Swan and Dolphin is offering $169.50 to AP holders for my dates. I can see now that this will be a resort that I will visit A LOT. So, in a sense Disney won't be getting my money and to be truthful, I'm so mad about this that I'm actually glad. I love Disney and I'll still be a loyal guest, but I'm very upset about this. But I know they could care less, so I'll just have to get over it.

Just stayed at the BC last week - 8 nights with an AP rate of $234, which is $100 off a night. I really enjoyed myself and I'm glad...like I said that is probably the last one.

This is exactly what I have been getting. We just returned from the Poly on Sun. and I wanted to book 4 nights over Thanksgiving. I keep getting Saratoga instead and I tried WL couldn't get that either. I tried POFQ and that doesn't work either. There are very few choices. I may just wait and hope regular AP rates come out. I don't like booking 120 days out with no refund either. My husbands work can't guarantee his time off that far out.

I'm very frustrated with this "Best Rate" stuff too. The availablility changes with each time you go on line--something is not there one time, available the next, gone the next time. Then the system kicks you out.

We've gone every November since our first trip in 1999. I would have liked to go ahead and book and would have committed to their 120 day no refund policy but messing around on this website has eaten up the 120 window. Now my trip would begin in fewer than 120 days and I'm out of luck.

Someone just posted that the website may show no availabiltiy at a resort or room level for best rate at say three nights beginning 11/14 but if you change to 5 nights, begining same date, boom, it's available. If that's true, I think it stinks if disney is trying to eliminate the short stays.

After 14 stays on site, I'm ready to forget it. If I don't end up at DTD or at a truly offsite place, Swan and Dolphin are very nice and great price, 169 for EPCOT area. They don't play games with time frames or non refundable deposits. Also, Loews stay 4 play free looks very good.

Am sorry for the vent--didn't mean to turn it into that. Pam, mainly wanted to say try a longer time frame and then maybe you can then drop a night or two and pay the $50 change fee.

Just tried it now-Poly GV $274.00 per night Nov 23/(305.52 with taxes).

Try again-seems to work for the moment.
