Is there a tax on the hoppers and passes now? I know that was one of the things the state wanted to do.

Not as of right now. I know a while back the Governor was wanting to put a tax (a high one, higher than the regular 8% now) on all state entertainment. So amusement park tickets, concert tickets, sporting events, etc. I don't think anything has happened since.

Every town is different. Where I live, my taxes are going up to 9.25%. Our neighboring town is going up to 9.00%. Both in the same County, and only separated by a few miles.

Some cities have their own taxes in addition to the county and state tax. I'm in Alameda county (Northern CA) and ours just went to 9.75% (that is just the state and county tax) BLAH!
