if you have booked, and your rate changes, call universal for a modification for the lower rate.

Couple of questions - how likely is it that HRH rates (either AAA or APH) will go down for August (prior to 8/18)??
Why are PBH AAA and APH rates lower than HRH???
How likely to get room upgrade as loews blue member??

Rates seem to change depending on occupancy. If the occupancy rate seems low, the hotel will lower rates in encouragement. My rate changed from 287 to 224 in 3 months. The good thing was, I wasn't locked into any package and could change it. You should ask if the mastercard deal is refundable if you find a better rate.

If the room has vacancy, you should get an upgrade.

laws in florida changed this year and i believe school starts around aug 20th this year. our school system changed to the opposite. we used to start school aug 13 and now will start last day of august/depending on day of the week....school will start first available monday here.

once school is in session, you won't find many crowds at the park. and hotel rates usually come down at that point.

rates at rph and pbh are always lower than hrh.
case of supply and demand. hrh the last 2 years has held at a very high occupancy rate and many times at 100% occupancy.

when a hotel stays consistantly booked, they can keep the rates high.

keep checking the rates and if they drop, call and modify your ressie to the lower rate.

like damo said, blue card loews can get an upgrade at hrh if a room is available when you check in. book garden view and get upgraded to pool view is their system

Just booked AAA rate over the phone at RPR total including tax/fees $188 (standard room) 8/23 It was available a few days before and after too. I'm HAPPY!

PBH is $215 AAA for late August..they have a special now for $229 also. Unfortunately you can't take both discounts. I just ordered Disney park tickets and really if you factor those in, universal is much cheaper!! I am sorry I didn't book Universal for longer...

my florida res. rate just dropped from $215 per night to $134 per night at rpr for june 3-6
