Just a heads up to everyone flying in to MCO, please check your flights. I had a round trip flight from Westchester, NY to MCO on July 20, and return flight on July 31. I called this morning to make sure I had DME set up, and Disney couldn’t find my inbound flight, while they had my outbound flight for August 1. I received no notice from JetBlue, so I was lucky that I called and Disney told me the flights I had no longer existed. When I contacted JetBlue, they confirmed that the flights I had were no longer in the system, and they changed me to roundtrip to/from JFK instead of HPN. I just wanted to do my small part in making sure no one arrived at the airport without a plane to get on. I can't imagine a worse way to start a Disney vacation. So, please everyone, double check your flight status, and more importantly, stay safe.

I check Delta often, especially now. They changed our flights for mid August again (4th time) but what was worse was that the seats they assigned me and DH were in separate rows. Fortunately I was able to get a window seat in the same row as his aisle seat, naturally the middle seats are X'ed out. But what TTA Rider Matt says is true, keep on top of checking those flights!

My SW flight to Houston in August from Indianapolis went from nonstop to stops in Atlanta and San Antonio- changed to another nonstop. My nonstop from Houston to Phoenix changed to stop in Tulsa. Changed to nonstop again. Going to watch- both happened at 2 month mark! Have ones to MCO in September that I’ll watch too.

Our flight last October with American got totally screwed up. We ended up staying over night in a city we hadn't planned on. It worked out, but we got nothing from the airlines for the change.
Absolutely, keep checking. We have also had our airplane change and suddenly our reserved seats were changed to the back of the airplane.

I just checked my reservations on AA for 7/13 and 7/17; they changed both of my flights without notifying me.

I had a AA flight for DCA to MCO on July 25 where I paid extra for more leg room. One day I got a refund notice on my credit from AA. So I was scratching my head on that, I looked at me AA App and my seats went from the front of the plane to the very back of the plane. I then noticed the flight had changed to a new flight number and time. I received no notice from AA on this. I called AA and had everything switched back to more leg room but come on AA. How can you just switch this up like that.

You have to imagine that the airlines are completely inundated with cancellations and modifications, with shifting flights around to make sure they can accomplish adequate social distancing, so it’s not a surprise that they’re making some mistakes of this nature. That said, it’s really unfortunate that people are not even being informed, and I can imagine that there will be hundreds of families with disappointed kids (and disappointed themselves) when they show up for a flight that no longer exists. I would also suggest to CALL the airline, don’t just check online. I had been checking my flights occasionally over the period of several weeks and they still appeared active. Good luck everyone!

Even before all of this craziness, it was a good idea to check flights about once a month until 6 months out, then at least twice a month to about 4 months, then at least weekly until the flight.

I read on southwest website they may shorten hours of flying and also instead redirect nonstops to have layovers. Keep an eye on it!

Jet Blue cancelled all July flights between my city and Orlando a few weeks ago. The entire month. And they did that for a lot of cities. They're trying to save money in a big way. At this point I'm wondering if they'll still be flying for our December trip. They're acting pretty strapped.

An airline did that to me once a few years ago when they automatically changed our flights. You'd think they'd reassign the people who paid extra to be upfront those same types of seats, but no. The agent I talked to acted surprised/disengenuous/whatever when I said that I wanted to be placed back at the front in the type of seats I had originally chosen & paid for. "Oh, you still want to be up front? Okay." :rolleyes2

Once when there was a weather-forced change an agent acted surprised when I said I wanted us to still be in first class (which I had paid for) for the replacement flight. It's not like it wasn't available. Shouldn't that be obvious? Have these agents ever flown?

You should call and ask to be put next to your husband (I did this with United). They do not guarantee that those middle seats will not be used.

Great advice!
I lost track of how many times I've called the airline to reschedule flights for myself and family (I'm in charge of arranging travel for everyone) these last few months.
I'm flying again Tuesday... I've been checking my flight every day the last week. So far so good!

I just happened to log into my Jet Blue reservations today and noticed something - odd. I checked out seat assignments and those haven't changed. All the middle seats are blocked out, expected that. But besides us, only the seats immediately across the aisle, the first two rows, the exit rows and the last row were being shown as unavailable. Same story for our return flight. The first and last rows I could see being blocked off to give space for the crew, and maybe exit rows too. Are we the only ones on the plane, or are they not really assigning seats right now - i.e., will we be assigned seats when we check in? Anyone else seeing this in your reservations? They also sent us a "flight change" notice because the flight time had gone down 15 minutes (CA to FL). Got one of those for both legs of the trip too.

I don't understand what you are saying. Are you trying to book seats? Or you can't change your seats?

Not trying to do either - just observing what I saw. I was actually curious how full the flight was when I clicked on it. Now that I've thought about it, pretty sure JB will assign seats when we get to the gate to spread everyone out as much as they can.

Still not sure what you saw, but if you are saying that people can't book seats right now, I would be aware that they could cancel this flight in the future. So they don't outright cancel now (have to pay refunds) but keep it on the schedule while not allowing further bookings. They may cancel later. I would continue to check booking and of course ymmv.

Southwest changed our flights for September 13-18 Islip to mco stopping in Baltimore now. They got rid of all the non stops that day. Coming back they only have one now. At least they put us on that one

Here, I'll show you. Our return flight, X's are not available, squares and circles are. Our seats are indicated with orange checks. Of note: I was seeing this both directions when I posted my OP, now quite a few seats are x'ed on our outbound flight, so maybe something they are working on;
