Sorry, this is going to be a long post. So I booked my flight for my upcoming November trip way back in April, leaving on Nov 9. I bought my ticket through NWA.com because they had the best rate. Out of curiosity and because of the fluctuating prices, I've been looking up my same flight every day just to see how the prices are changing (I've never seen a cheaper rate on my flight since I bought it, thank goodness). Yesterday I noticed my flight, leaving at 6:15am and arriving in Orlando at 11:28am, was no longer available... I thought it might just be sold out.

Today I rechecked my confirmation email from NWA and followed the link to their site... found out that my flight times had been changed and they didn't email me about it! My flight wasn't sold out at all- it was eliminated! They had moved me to a flight leaving at 12:02pm, but had not changed my connecting flight in Detroit. I was leaving Ontario at 12:02pm... and supposedly arriving in Orlando at 12:09pm! :rotfl:

I called NWA and I was offered a connecting flight from Detroit landing in Orlando at 5:59pm. There were no earlier flights available for that day. That would not work for me as I had a 5pm ADR and didn't want to lose that much time at Disney. They said they could put me on a flight the next day Nov 10... umm NO! I'd be losing a day at Disney! I asked if they had any flights for the previous day, Nov 8.. yes they did! They let me re-book my flight, free of charge 'cause it was their error and I've now gained a day at Disney! I called Disney to add one more night to my reservation. I have to pay rack rate on my extra night since its past the date I can use the code I got. I had to book a room separate from my existing package and could not add another days park ticket(without paying the full amount). :( but I don't mind, I'll just go to DTD the first night... and I'll have one more day/night at Disney!! :woohoo:

So check your flights everyone and keep checking them. With airlines cutting costs you never know what they'll do. I'm very happy I didn't find out about my flight change when I got to the airport! I'm happy this all worked out for me.

Last Dec, NWA changed our 6.50 A.M. flight to Orando so they let us book a flight for the night before which also gave us an extra day at Disney. We are going to WW this Dec and booked a flight last Jan for a real good rate. Trouble is they have already changed the flight this year twice. We did get an e-mail but it is leaving three hours later than the original time.

If your package tickets were for fewer than 10 days you could add another day to them except barring an act of Disney congress you would not be able to pick the tickets up until the next day when you checked in for your package.

Boy do I feel your pain OP. United has changed our flights three times since February and only notified us once. I still have 3 months to go:scared: I had to call in and request a better flight every time because they kept trying to put me on milk runs :rolleyes1

how frustrating....NWA did this to us last year as well, changed our flight times with out letting us know..I happened to find it like you as well, we were suppose to leave at 5:45 am...they switched it to 2pm, we were able to change our flight to a day earlier(with no charge) had to stay at a different resort for that night, so that was a bit of a pain..they also changed our return flights so instead of leaving Orlando at 5:00 pm we had to leave at 7:am...so we lost a day..if we hadn't been able to fly out the day earlier we would hav lost 1.5 days!! oh then they completely damaged one of our suit cases on the way home....so NWA is in our bad books!!

I would probably call Disney back and ask the rep to transfer you to guest relations/guest services (can't remember what it was called). I added to a free dining reservation after the code had expired last year. The initial rep couldn't help me because the code was no longer in their system, but the guest relations person had no difficulty in doing it for me.
And the worst they can do is say "no" but it's worth a try. :)

Thanks! i might do that! Is it guest relations I am asking for? Anyone know? or a manager? I don't want to ask for the wrong person/department. I would be nice to not have the pay $111.00 for that extra night, when I payed $53/night for the rest of my trip.

I called Disney twice: once to see if there was availability at POP for an extra night, and then again to book it after talking to the airline. I was given the same answer both times...no discount on that night. I'd love another answer.

To the OP, thanks for the "heads up". I checked my Nov flight on NWA.com and yup, it's been changed and I wasn't notified. So, I'll be checking regularly from now on.

Thanks

Anyone know exactly what dept or who I should be asking for when I call? I'd like to call once and get this over with.

Thank you NancyK! I called Disney this morning, asked to speak with a Guest Relations agent and she was able give me the same discount on my extra night that a received with my code. She also combined the 2 reservations into one so I won't have to change rooms after the first night!

I love the Dis!
